In the past two, I got back into the tenor saxophone due the fact I prefered it over clarinet. The tenor saxophone in my opinion, is not some tool that can crank out swingy tunes which were popularized in jazz performances. I prefer the lesser common marching and concert tenor saxophones which can match a beautiful pitch with the tenor horns of the ensemble. It’s not a common instrument like the alto saxophone, which truly is an easier horn to play. The tenor saxophone is also the most similar to the soprano saxophone which is my second favorite saxophone, hitting all the notes which I can’t with the tenor. The tenor saxophone can adapt its voice depending on the player.
