Around seven people were fit to accommodate the sick that had not yet been infected by the harsh diseases. God is referred to in the journal entry for giving these seven people the privilege and strength to help the sick Pilgrims. “And yet the Lord so upheld these persons as in this general calamity they were not at all infected either with sickness or with lameness.” This says that the Lord has given these seven people a gift to keep on giving to the sick.
