What is a “pin,” you ask? According to pinterest, “Pins are like handsome little bookmarks. Whenever you find something on the web that you want to keep, add it to Pinterest. Your newly minted Pin will be here whenever you need it, and will always link back to the site it came from.” Pinterest is a tool for collecting and organizing things you love. The site was founded by Ben Silbermann, Paul Sciarra and Evan Sharp. Development of Pinterest began in December 2009, and is the fastest growing social network ever, growing to over 10 million users in nine months with 23 million users in late 2012. With the average pinner spending $170 per session, Pinterest generates more dollars per user than any other social media site. Small and large businesses alike are now taking advantage of this new marketing strategy by pinning their products, promoting their business, and attracting customers. Keeping in mind that 1 in 5 users buy from Pinterest, the following are statistics on the primary users of pinterest:
15% of adults in the United States are on Pinterest
Pinterest users are young, well-educated, and 80% female
25 million monthly unique visitors go to Pinterest According to a small business article by Christopher Rinaldi, “Pinterest’s popularity and direct linkage to existing sites makes it a must-have for marketers this year.” The article goes on to say that 80% of pins are repins, which means that pins are highly likely to be shared by others, making pinterest a vital tool for marketers. “As photos continue to generate higher engagement rates than text-based content, marketers will develop more branded images for social media platforms in 2014.” (Rinaldi)

There were two court cases that we were given to look at. The first court case was Darling vs. Charleston Community Hospital. According to McWay, this case was on a male football player that got injured during a game and was brought to the emergency room where they determined at the hospital that his left leg was broken and a doctor that did not have any experience with putting a cast on put the cast on wrong and then left it on for fourteen days (McWay, 2015, pg.78). I think the biggest mistake that the hospital made was allowing a doctor that did not have any experience in putting casts on put the cast on and the doctor put the cast on the leg wrong and when the cast was taken off there was dead tissue on the leg. This caused the doctor at…
