Planet Janet Summary

The novel titled Planet Janet tells a sixteen years old teenager named Janet as the main character. She is getting ready to begin a new maturity in another word in this novel called dark phase. Meanwhile, Janet’s effort to take maturity, she had to deal with her family conflicts. In Janet’s eye, her family is very annoying. Jocelyn Bandry her mother or more commonly called the mad cow in her diary book is a teacher. One of the reasons she did not like her mother is because of her mother more dominant to Justin; her old brother. In addition, Janet thinks each her mother got upset, Janet most get her shit. On the other hand, Janet father Sigmund is a psychotherapist, a heavy smoker and Janet often assume his chatter always unimportant. The novel described Janet father and mother often quarreled. However, she is not too concerned about their quarrel. Janet also hates her brother. He is eighteen years old and photography is his hobby.
They are classmate and a lot in common. Disha and Janet promised to start the dark phase at the turn of the New Year. According to Disha and Janet, the dark phase means that they're going to read poetry and great literature, really get into art and serious films, and wear mainly black clothes and make-up.
