LAMINAR FLOW SYSTEM
Introduction
The function of a Laminar Flow System is to cool product leaving the Rolling Mill to the proper coiling temperature. This function is accompanied by direct application of cooling water.
The system consists of 4 banks of Top and Bottom cooling headers. Each bank of headers receives its cooling water supply from a centrifugal pump dedicated to that bank of headers. Each bank of headers consists of 7 Top headers and 16 Bottom headers, except bank 2 which has 14 Bottom headers.

The Boeing 737 has a total of three fuel tanks in its fuel system. The first two tanks are located in the left and right wing. These tanks are integral fuel tanks. This means that the wing structure forms the tank as well. The third tank is located in the fuselage between the base of the wings, it is in line with the other two tanks. Fuel is fed from a tank to the engines by two fuel boost pumps in the tank. These pumps are electric. Each tank has two of these electric boost pumps. There are also some mechanically operated pumps that create suction to make fuel flow.…

REFRIGERATION SYSTEM COMPONENTS There are five basic components of a refrigeration system, these are: Evaporator Compressor Condenser Expansion Valve Refrigerant; to conduct the heat from the product In order for the refrigeration cycle to operate successfully each component must be present within the refrigeration system. The Evaporator The purpose of the evaporator is to remove unwanted heat from the product, via the liquid refrigerant. The liquid refrigerant contained within the evaporator is boiling at a low-pressure. The level of this pressure is determined by two factors: The rate at which the heat is absorbed from the product to the liquid refrigerant in the evaporator The rate at which the low-pressure vapour is removed from the evaporator by the compressor To enable the transfer of heat, the temperature of the liquid refrigerant must be lower than the temperature of the product being cooled. Once transferred, the liquid refrigerant is drawn from the evaporator by the compressor via the suction line. When leaving the evaporator coil the liquid refrigerant is in vapour form. The Compressor The purpose of the compressor is to draw the low-temperature, low-pressure vapour from the evaporator via the suction line. Once drawn, the vapour is compressed. When vapour is compressed it rises in temperature. Therefore, the compressor transforms the vapour from a low-temperature vapour to a high-temperature vapour, in turn increasing the pressure. The vapour is then…

Natural gas is a naturally occurring gas mixture, consisting mainly of methane. While most of the gas supplied to Union Gas is from western Canada, some gas is supplied from other sources, including the United States and Ontario producers. While the gas from these sources has a similar analysis, it is not entirely the same. The table below outlines the typical components of natural gas on the Union Gas system and the typical ranges for these values (allowing for the different sources).…

Due to their higher heat transfer capabilities, Armstrong X- Series plate heat exchangers can take up less than other designs, yet provide the same or better performance. The X-series plate have an extremely efficient plate pattern that produces higher heat transfer coefficients, less heat transfer surface area required and a smaller footprint especially for HVAC applications. For a typical cooling application of 1500 kw, the SX90-2000 provides the most compact solution for a given capacity.…
