I would like to provide you some information about a previous position I held with Platt Electric Supply. I worked for Platt for 4 years; the last 2 years as a Regional Product Specialist for the Data & Communications division. After an introduction to the company this report will describe previous position, tasks involved and skills required to perform tasks.
Introduction
Platt Electric Supply is a service oriented, value added wholesaler of electrical products. Platt Electric has the infrastructure to provide an “Overnight, Everyday” promise to their customers. This promise guarantees Platt customers a reliable supply of inventory from distribution center to store location on a daily basis. Platt distribution centers also offer custom wire cuts for their customers’ convenience. Platt Electric customers can pull from over 300 vendors and 50,000 different items in stock at a Platt warehouse. Products range from ordinary light switches and outlets to camera surveillance packages and solar energy products.
In 2010 Jay Platt retired as CEO and president, handing operations over to Jeff Baker the first non-family executive. As of July 2012 the sale of Platt Electric to French company Rexel will be final. The business deal will end the Platt’s family ownership dating back 59 years to 1953 when the company was founded by Isadore and Morrie Platt. Since 1953 Platt Electric has grown to 111 store locations in 7 western states including 2 distribution centers located in Beaverton, OR and Salt Lake City, UT.
Job Description & Responsibilities
Position Held. From 2006 – 2008 I held the position of Regional Product Specialist for the Data & Communication Division of Platt Electric Supply.
As a regional specialist I was responsible for a territory of western Washington consisting of 22 store locations covering Bellingham to
