In Disney's 1995 version of the movie Pocahontas viewers are told the miraculous tale of Jamestown. When English settlers come to the Americas in search of gold their leader John Smith falls in love with the Powhatan Native American Chief's daughter Pocahontas. They go on amazing adventures together and teach each other the ways of their people. John Smith is eventually captured and prepared for execution for the killing of Kocoum, even though he attacked first. Some of the non important differences are fictional things that are thrown into the story: like talking trees and unrealistic animals. These things don't matter because they are obviously incorrect. Some of the major differences seen are pocahontas’s age, the love story, and the capture and rescue of John Smith. In the movie Pocahontas is portrayed as a beautiful graceful woman, but in historically she was only ten years old so there was no way a relationship was even possible.
