Scars, both and noun and a verb, are a permanent/temporary marking that is a reminder of something or someone. Nikita Gill, in this poem, is showing that she has had many ingenuine people in her life. People she thought she could count on, and then discovered the truth about her “friends”. In America, people are big on going through life with their “day one” friends. A “day one” is someone who has been a loyal and supportive person in your life since your beginnings.
