The American Dream Is Dead Ever since the creation of our great country, the United States of America, the American dream has existed as well. Overtime it became one of the main focuses of US citizens, but as we developed as a country and have different opinions and views. However, our ever changing viewpoints has made achieving the American dream harder and harder. So you may ask, “Do you think you can achieve the American dream?” My answer would have to be no. First off I will name some of the things you must have to achieve the American dream. One thing that you need is to be financially independent and financially sound. The independent isn’t the easiest thing to achieve, but being financially sound is almost unheard of nowadays, that is, unless you’re rich. Being financially sound is so hard to do today. If you work hard, you’ll reach all of your goals, no matter how unattainable they seem. Just look at Andrew Carnegie, Bill Gates, and Steve Jobs! It’s too bad that average Americans won’t actually be able to reach such a high level like those 3 very successful men. If you want to reach the top you have to be talented at something. And as bad as it may sound, the average American has no talent. So, unless you can sing, dance, sell things, create new technology, or you’re good at investing, you don’t really have a chance of getting on that level. Can the American dream be restored? Yes, but the amount of effort needed to this is almost impossible. The two biggest problems we have are the domination of politics and political offices being controlled by wealthy and powerful politicians.
