Pokemon: Gotta Catch ‘em all!

“Prepare for trouble. And make it double. To protect the world from devastation, to unite all people within our nation, to denounce the evils of truth and love, to extend our reach to the stars above.” This is one of the striking lines in the Pokemon series that made a huge hit not only for kids but also for those people who are young at heart. It has left its mark in the TV industry, gaming industry, even in books, action figures, stuff toys, trading cards and many others. Pokemon has been known globally.
My addiction to pokemon started when I was in grade 2 when my tita gave me a present. It was a set of pokemon cards. At first, I really have no idea how to play this. But after my cousin introduced the steps in playing, I got so interested that I try other pokemon games like pokemon gold. Up till now, I am still active in collecting pokemon items and playing computer games all about pokemon. So, in order to satisfy my hunger for more pokemon stuff, I searched more about it. I found out that pokemon was the idea of Mr. Satoshi Tajiri.
Satoshi was born on August 28, 1965 in Tokyo. His father was a Nissan car salesman and his mother was a housewife. As a child, he enjoyed collecting insects as a hobby. And by that, his playmates call him Dr. Bug. It was his dream to develop a game where children would be able to collect and train different kinds of creatures, while being able to trade them with their friends. Satoshi Tajiri wanted kids all over the world to experience the same kind of joy that he felt when he collects his bugs. And when he reach the age of 17, he became captivated with arcade games and began writing and editing a fanzine called Game Freak. During that time, it was handwritten and stapled together. But one day, Ken Sugimori, who later illustrated the original set of Pokémon, saw the magazine at a dōjinshi shop, and decided to get involved. Satoshi first conceived the idea of Pokémon in 1990. After he saw a Game

Background Information: Post-1983 pennies have a copper jacket and a zinc core. We hope to determine the percent composition of these two metals. This will be done by reacting the zinc with hydrochloric acid to form zinc ions in a single replacement reaction. The acid reacts with the zinc but not copper. The reaction of zinc metal with the hydrochloric acid (HCl) produces zinc chloride and hydrogen gas. Safety: Wear your safety goggles and apron If you spill Hydrochloric acid on yourself, rinse with water Procedure: DAY I 1. Take a post-1983 penny and, using a triangular file, etch an “X” on one side of the penny. Also etch a notch on the edge of the penny in the four positions shown in the diagram. 2. Mass and record the mass of the penny. 3. Using a graduated cylinder, measure 60.0 mL of 3.0 M HCl and pour it into your 100mL beaker. 4. Place the penny in the HCl solution etch side up and record observations for 3-5 minutes. 5. Place the beaker in your lab drawer. 6. Answer question #1 for tomorrow. Read and prepare a data table for Day II. DAY II 1. Using your forceps, carefully remove the fragile copper jacket that is left from the penny. Rinse it gently in distilled water. 2. In thinking of film's that are able to exemplify many film elements that are put together in an interesting and organized manner the movie Rumble Fish comes to mind. The director Francis Ford Coppola demonstrates how metaphors are able to help decipher a deeper meaning of the film. Rumble Fish is a film that is about growing up and seeing new things that have never been seen before. The two main characters who are brothers Rusty James and the Motorcycle Boy, experience internal conflicts. Rusty James the younger of the two looks up to his brother and wants to be like him. However the elder has grown out of his previous demeanor of always fighting and he doesn't want his brother to follow in his steps. Throughout the film he ask Rusty James why he is following him. The Motorcycle Boy knows that his brother is somewhat trapped in the city and someone needs to get him out or set him free. He looks to the fish in the pet store to explain this and it is how he relates to his brothers problems. This is the scene that will be examined of when Rusty James is in the pet store with his brother and they are looking at the fish. It has been explained how much everyone in town looks up to the Motorcycle Boy, and on numerous occasions Rusty James said he was going to look like him when he was older. Even though the Motorcycle Boy never shows much affection, he wants something better for his brother, and even though he never tells his brother to leave until the end when he knows he is going to die, he tries to let him know through the fish. So until this point in the movie the viewer never really knows how the Motorcycle Boy feels about his brother.…
