PUTIN'S ARMY OF POLAR BEARS INVADE NORTHERN RUSSIA
According to a report from NBC News, the five meteorologists were able to leave their remote weather station after two weeks. Allegedly, the men chased away the bears. During the two weeks, the team shacked up in their facility on the Izvestiy TSIK Islands, 2,800 miles northeast of Moscow. Estimates state that nearly a dozen of these polar bears moved into the area. The men used flares to scare the Putin bears and eventually ran out. Fortunately, the men avoided injury. The guard do on the other hand, fell victim to
the bears. Russia feared the siege could have lasted another month.
RUSSIA SAYS MEN WERE LUCKY TO SURVE PUTIN BEARS
While two weeks sounds like a long time to hide from Putin polar bears, Russia says the siege could have lasted for another month. They already had plans to resupply the weather station with more flares and of course, puppies. While the puppies are not big enough to deter bears yet, the station plans to get a replacement guard dog as soon as possible. They will need it too. Reports say that bears have been sleeping right outside of the window.
PUTIN SAYS DON'T SHOOT RUSSIA'S POLAR BEARS
Some many think "why not just shoot these bears?". Well, polar bear bears are an endangered species. The Russian's say that shooting them is a crime unless in self-defence. So unless these bears are really going after these weathermen, all they can do is wait it out. Fortunately, they have a years worth of food up there so starvation is not an issue. However, they did say they were forced to take risky trips to nearby buildings to maintain the diesel generator. Who knew studying the weather was so dangerous?
