I decided to move my patrol car closer and my headlights illuminated the teens, this is when I noticed the female was holding a cigarrete, and two of the males with beer cans. After exiting my patrol car, I asked them for identification and realized that my suspicions where correct in regards to their age. Before asking further questions I have to determine my next course of action. The teens are in violation of the curfew law, if it is there first offense a $50 dollar fine is imposed. The female will receive two citations, subsequent offenses $10-$50 fine, 50 hours of community service, attending a tobacco educational program, or combination of penalties (Tenn. Code Ann. § 39-17-1505). The two males with open beer cans will get two citations, one for curfew of $50 and another $50 fine and at least 20 hours of community service, attending alcohol educational program or a combination of penalties (Tenn.
