According to area Public Health Officer, Regina Mule, the exercise which started on April 9 will cover all the children in the area
In an interview on Tuesday, Mule reiterated the need to sensitize mothers on how to acquire polio vaccination services for their children.
“Those who are not vaccinated may suffer from diseases, such as paralysis and meningitis, which can be fatal, and all parents should be up-to-date with all childhood immunization programs”, she observed.
She said the vaccine has gone through various tests to ascertain
its suitability and has been fully approved by the World Health Organization after a protracted battle between the government and the Catholic Church.
Meanwhile, the exercise will is set to end by 14th April.
