Differing views played a huge part in the start of political parties. Leaders of which the parties formed around, Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton, disagreed on many issues/problems. For example, they quarreled on economy(Hamilton liked manufacturing while Jefferson believed farming was better.) Hamilton and Jefferson also bickered on government power, interpretation of the Constitution, allies, and more.
Newspapers influenced/was also a factor in the growth of political parties. They began to support and take sides of either party. For instance, the publisher
for Gazette of the United States backed up Hamilton and the Federalists while the National Gazette supported Jefferson and the Republicans. Newspapers often mixed rumour and opinion with facts that led to emotional attacks/counterattacks which fanned the flames of party rivalry. They had a big influence and helped shape public opinion.
After George Washington’s retirement as President, the first political parties grew up around his former advisors because of their contrasting views on things and public newspapers which backed up both sides. Political parties go to show that everyone has their own entitled opinion and will fight for it.
