Political Socialization for me was influenced by my family. My grandmother was a Democrat, and she had many views about political issues and I respected those views. Before President Obama I never really focused on politics. I always thought they were really annoying and never thought they would actually be important to my future. But as a Senior in high school That has taken many history classes and learned more and more about politics I've realized that they are important. My future will be formed around these political issues. I think having political ideology is important because without it you won't know what to think about politics. …show more content…
With the upcoming presidential election, there is a wave of political socialization.
I think of political socialization as a text message sent to another phone. That message travels through the air just like political socialization. This upcoming presidential election is honestly scary. Each candidate has many different views on all kinds of topics. Donald Trump doesn't like immigrants, so he's not for me. Hilary Clinton is going to fix the tax problem where millionaires will have to pay more taxes while the middle class will be relived from them. Ted Cruze also doesn't like immigrants and plans to build a wall. Then there's Bernie Sanders, who understands the factors of
abortion.
If I were to choose one of those candidates, I would probably pick Bernie Sanders. Sanders wants to eliminate the number of wars we fight in, take care of abortion the right way, reduce gun violence, unite immigrant families, and make the rich pay the fair amount of taxes. With these views that Sanders expresses, I believe all these have the potential of happening and working. Let me just remind you that this is my opinion and I'm not here to get into political argument.
What political candidates need to realize is that this is our future they're talking about. They are forming the United States future. They're forming immigrants futures. They're forming pregnant mothers futures. They're forming the rich and middle classes futures. They're forming college students futures. They're forming soldiers futures. They're forming my future. This upcoming presidential election is very important to me and my future.
Politics are in the air. We breath politics, and we see politics. It is up to us to take that advantage to express our political ideology and represent of political socialization. You may get it from your family, friends, the public, or previous presidents. Just remember to always give yourself a chance and an opinion on things, including politics, before you take others opinions. Our future is being formed right in front of our eyes and it is up to us to help it or stop it. Political socialization is happened gesture day, it's happening now, and it will continue to happen no matter what.
