I've found that this class has shaped many of my ideas on the political world as well as many of the issues occurring within the government. The saying that history repeats itself stands tire and I've found that within the class. Honestly, this class led to my understanding of the quote presented. There was a discussion between the difference of propaganda and education-- propaganda serves to persuade and change opinions either for or against a certain opinion while education serves to provide multiple points of views to the public. This is a profound example of the effect education has had on my ideas. I wish to further this through the classes provided at the oversight of…
Unlike many countries in Europe that have multiparty elections and parliaments, the United States government uses two-party system, and the form of the two-party was established since Civil War—Republicans and Democrats. The political conflicts between those two parties in the United States have existed for decades. However, in recent years, there appears a sign of escalation of the situation. The essential purpose of building two-party political system is to guarantee the fairness in making national decisions, avoid single-party corruption and excessive powers, and ensure the democracy. However, seen from the undying fights during the government official election period and the apparent gradually polarized judicial institution, the fairness…
With the current political situation in America, there is often talk about “Fixing America” or “Making America Great Again” or whatever new(!) exciting(!) and frankly, controversial(‽) taglines for a political campaign. They often talk about things like bans on immigration or other things that are controversial. These ideas are the interesting, impactful topics, and help get politicians reelected. However, I feel, that the boring things, such as education, tax reform and such, are much more effective. Unfortunately, these are “boring” topics and so people don't really focus on them. It's a wonder that anything gets done, after all, the big(!) controversial(!) topics will inevitably get reversed. Anyways, this thing is about education.…
In the school display policy it should include the aim and objectives for the display. It is there to stimulate learning environment. It helps a child to gain new information and also to build their learning skills. The displays must be kept in good condition and also where possible trimmed and mounted. Staple guns and sharp pins should be kept out of reach of children and also removed properly when taking down old posters. A person may use different materials to help their posters look better and more eye catching for the children. Posters should be mounted in different ways and in different varieties. Heading, titles, letters and information must be written clearly for children to read. Display areas must be kept tidy and clean to prevent accidents. Display areas can be in the corridors, the classroom and outside the principal’s office. Staff must take pictures and record evidence for their reference. Staff have responsibility to ensure that the posters are kept in good condition and also to use health and safety procedures while putting up displays. Staff must use staple guns rather than pins as this could be dangerous if children get their hands on it. Staff must know how to approach hanging up displays that are high by using ladder not standing on chairs and tables. In the display policy it includes to use spray glue not super glue and this contains many dangerous chemicals. Display policy outline the rules and regulations that staff and students need to know before they are able to put displays…

In the case of, “Keyishian v. Board of Education, 1967: The classroom is peculiarly the “marketplace of ideas.” The Nation’s future depends upon leaders trained through wide exposure to that robust exchange of ideas which discovers “truth out of a multitude of tongues, [rather] than through any kind of authoritative selection. ”(Staff, N.) In the classroom today we are encouraging the students to engage in discussion to create critical thinking.…
My father thought, if people could be more like him, we would all be better off. The people with whom he enjoyed playing music became the people who were now taking his hard earned money. All this political banter left me disinterested in politics. Thankfully I was away at college during the 1993 presidential election when Clinton won, with the help of my mother. This political divide left me with no feelings for politics at all. I can compare my political thinking with the wind-one minute it’s blowing to the right then it swings to the left. In retrospect, I can thank my parents, for they gave me the skills necessary to be a good political scientist. I can read information and learn about issues void of emotion. This is the first political science class I have ever taken and I must admit I have enjoyed all the readings thus far. If someone would have told me years ago I would be writing a paper about liberals and conservatives I would never have believed them. What is a liberal? How do you define a conservative? Is having a label of a liberal or conservative constructive…
While children are in school, they are exposed to the three basic beliefs of liberty, equality, and democracy. Students are taught about the history of our great nation which leads them to understanding the concepts of liberty and equality; what our forefathers fought to establish and keep. Students are also encouraged to get involved in student government and learn about the nation’s problems. This teaches them the idea of democracy. With these core concepts, they can begin to establish their own political views. Unfortunately, in today’s school systems, many students are soaking up the political orientation of their teachers. Many teachers bring in their political thoughts and only teach the negative about the other side. This creates a problem since children are becoming politically one-sided. They aren’t learning about the opposing…

Politics and religion have always and will continue to be two subjects that are typically not discussed in a work place or between people outside of their own religion. Why is that? Is it because people are embarrassed of their own beliefs or do they truly understand why they believe what they do? I say this because I am very excited about this course so it will also help me understand how each religious belief was created.…
