Pollution
Problem: greenhouse gas pollution
Reason: burning fossil fuels
Sub-reason: create much carbon dioxide
Solution: phasing out fossil fuel
Example: not building any new coal-burning power plants

Pollution whether it is vehicular, electrical or industrial is the main contributor to the global warming. Most of the greenhouse gas emissions come from the burning of fossil fuel for energy such as electricity and transport. When oil, gas or coal burns, carbon contained within it combines with oxygen in the air to create carbon dioxide.
Coal is the major fuel that is burnt in these power plants. Coal produces around 1.7 times as much carbon dioxide per unit of energy when flamed. Over 75% of the electricity worldwide is produced by burning fossil fuels. Many gases are sent into the air when fossil fuels are burnt of which main is the carbon dioxide gas.
By driving cars, using electricity from coal fired plants and heating up our homes from natural gases, we release carbon dioxide and other heat trapping gases in the atmosphere. This all will cause the greenhouse gas pollution and lead to global warming.
Burning of fossil fuels likes wood or coal produces more carbon emissions than other product. Therefore, phasing out coal burning power plants and not burning fossil fuels directly will reduce dependence on fossil fuels. There are many ways to begin this process. For example, not building any new coal-burning power plants, initiating a phased shutdown of coal plants starting with the oldest and dirtiest, and capturing and storing carbon emissions from power plants

Since the time of the Industrial Revolution, human activities have polluted the air with large amounts of greenhouses gasses. These gasses are thick covering the Earth in the atmosphere creating and trapping more heat on Earth’s surface; this is known as the greenhouse effect. While the greenhouse effect is needed to support life on Earth, a continuous buildup of these gasses becomes harmful. Greenhouses gasses come from burning fossil fuels, deforestation, industrial processes, and some agriculture practices. When the carbon dioxide is released by these activities it is trapped in the lower part of the troposphere heating the surface of the Earth thus creating global warming. The most significant greenhouse gas is carbon dioxide; it can cause the most substantial increase in temperature.…

    * Although coal-fired power stations still provide 34% of total electricity, the domestic coal industry is a shadow of its former self. Coal-fired power stations are less polluting than they once were, but still produce large amounts of greenhouse gases. However, some believe the emerging technology of "carbon capture", in which emissions are not released into the atmosphere, could see a new lease of life for coal.…

This resulted from the burning of fossil fuels, solid waste, trees, wood, and other chemical reactions. The biggest reason is because of the burning of fossil fuels this includes driving your car and nuclear power plants.…

deforestation, burning of foil fuels (oil/coal) the most serious are 2 of the most cause currents effects of global warming. The emission of CO2 is most cause by burning coal and oil. This cause CO2 to remain in the ground and cause global warming. Some of the effect of global warming Al Gore mention was the reduction of the arctic ice cap. This floods when sea level to rise and drought when heat is generated at an intensive level. At first coal and oil company deny any notion of global warming but later decided to created “clean coil” as solution. “Clean coal” is still coal therefore it will not be effective in reducing global. Clean energy such as coal plants are effective way to reduce the effects of global…

“Unfortunately, the process involved in using the fuels released fumes into the air that are harming the planet.” Since fossil fuels are not a renewable source it will eventually run out. “In 1987 the United Nations said that we should aim for sustainable energy.” Meaning countries should start developing sources of energy that will never run out or harm the planet. “Fossil fuel power plants burn oil, coal, or natural gas.“That heat produced is used to turn water into steam.” “The steam powers machines called turbines, and the turbines then power generations that produce electricity.” However burning fossil fuels also releases harmful substances into the air, such as oxides says Vic. “These oxides mix with water vapor and fall to earth as acid rain,” which is harmful to the…

You probably know that Carbon Dioxide, a greenhouse gas, is the main pollutant that is warming the Earth. Let me tell you that Carbon Dioxide represents 85 percent of all gas emissions caused by human sources. Globally, the largest source of carbon emission is the combustion of fossil fuels like coal, natural gas and oil for energy. On the other hand, electricity production is the biggest generator of carbon emissions; transportation comes in the second place, followed by industry, cars, planes, power plants, and other human activities that involve the burning of fossil fuels, such as gasoline and…

All this has contributed to a rise in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Fossil fuels such as oil, coal and natural gas supply most of the energy needed to run vehicles generate electricity for industries, households, etc. The energy sector is responsible for about ¾ of the carbon dioxide emissions, 1/5 of the methane emissions and a large quantity of nitrous oxide. It also produces nitrogen oxides (NOx) and carbon monoxide (CO) which are not greenhouse gases but do have an influence…

First, we need to understand what fossil fuels are and how they got to the emissions levels they are currently. We must first start by knowing that there are three major forms of fossil fuels: coal, oil, and natural gases. We know we burn coal- it is burned for energy, in addition, it helps power plants that produce other viable resources, oil like petroleum after compounded makes various other resources such as gasoline, and natural gases some of us use on an everyday basis when turning on hot water or gas stoves.…

The major concern about air pollution is global warming. This is when gases like carbon dioxide, found in vehicle exhaust, get trapped in the atmosphere and cause our planet to retain more heat from the Sun than normal. Global warming endangers our health, jeopardizes our national security, and threatens other basic human needs. Some impacts, such as record high temperatures, rising seas, and severe flooding and droughts, are already increasingly common (Union of Concerned Scientists, 2014).…

Contrary to that belief, there are some people that insist on blaming human activities as the main culprit of global warming nowadays. There are many industries that excrete so much waste to the environment, such as carbon dioxide. Apart from that, some destructive actions done by human, such as cutting off trees, can also contribute to the rising carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. People also indirectly pollute the air by driving a car instead of riding a bicycle. According to the diagram on the article, industrial wastes in sea have cause more fossil fuel carbon…
