2. Have a National "Going Green" day: The President of the United States needs to address the environmental problem during one of his speeches, and set aside a day for "Going Green". Our local governments can then send out information about being more environmentally friendly and the reasons for doing so. Many people will participate because of the government's involvement. As the years go by more and more people will become aware of the problem just because there is a National "Going Green" day.
3. Famous people and organizations need to get involved: When we notice that people we look up to are promoting the green movement we are going to get more involved. The National Basketball Association(NBA) has an "NBA Cares" movement where the NBA, its players and coaches donate millions of dollars to charity, provide a million hours to hands on service and community work, and create 250 places where kids and families can live, learn and play. What if another sports league promoted a "Going Green" movement where they donated millions of dollars and hours to clean up the environment and make others more aware? Think of all the good this would do. How many people can name a famous actress or actor who is promoting the "Going Green" movement? My guess is that only a small percentage of Americans can actually think of someone famous. When these famous people and organizations get involved more people will take notice, and more people will participate.
