Pollution and Environment
One of the dilemmas concerning our environment is saving wild life creatures. Cutting down trees is killing their habitat and ways of living. How would you like it if someone came into your neighbourhood and started bulldozing the houses down? Many living species have died because of the habitat changes they have to go through. Many oceans and other water bound areas in the world are being polluted by human waste. It’s killing all water creatures and making water unsanitary. If you really think about it, we, as a community, are murderers for polluting animals’ homes and ways of life. We are killing so many creatures each day because of all the waste we don’t care about and dump into oceans. It really is a horrible thing to think about. The first attempt for wildlife conservation was taken during the 19th century according to the North American wildlife conservation model and it was successful also after that so many initiative were attempted like world conservation agency developed by IUCN in 1980 with the assistance of UNEP and WWF, similarly in 1972 wild life conservation act was also enacted in India. These all have the motto to conserve the wildlife. Than for saving the environment steps were also taken after holding the different conferences like Rio conference in Brazil, CANCUN in Mexico, EUEC [energy utility environment conference] in USA etc. But now the situation says that these were not at all successful in their motto because the rate of extinction of wildlife and deteortation of environment is much faster than their conservation measures and this shows our seriousness towards it. Now day by day the list of endangered species are increasing like tiger, panda, cheetah, jaguar etc which were abundant before some 25 to 30 years ago while some of them are at the verge of extinction and some became extinct like North African elephant, Quagga etc. Now take another component as environment which is suffering from severe degradation due to many unbalanced human

Pollution is a very tough topic in today’s market and in my personal opinion; Government should intervene for the following reason. Let's take the example of a company that manufactures blue jeans at a factory location on a river. The problem is that, as a byproduct of its manufacturing operations, the factory dumps chemical pollutants into the river. But no single person or entity owns the river water, so there is no one to force the company to stop polluting. Moreover, since cleaning up the river would cost money, the company can sell its paper products more cheaply than if it had to absorb such pollution control costs. As a result, the paper company can further increase its output, responding to the relatively higher demand at its lower prices, leading to more waste and pollution from its factory. By polluting without penalties, the company may also have an unfair advantage over competitors whose paper products do reflect the cost of installing pollution control equipment. This is a classic example of a so called external cost that is not reflected in the price through normal workings of the marketplace. Neither the paper company nor its customers are bearing the actual cost of paper production; instead, a portion of the cost, the pollution factor has been shifted to the people who live or work along the river and those taxpayers who eventually are stuck with the cleanup bill. Like other externalities, pollution often occurs where the ownership of a resource, in this case the river is not held by individuals or private organizations. Public lands and roadsides, for example, are more often littered than the lawns in front of people's homes, because no one person owns these public lands and takes the responsibility for keeping them clean, and prosecuting those who despoil them. Most pollution is, in fact, released into the air, oceans, and rivers precisely because there are no individual owners of those resources who have strong…

Pollution effects are not confined to the environment. The potential for damage to historical monuments has already been realized. Some damage, such as from wind or rain, is unavoidable. However, pollution contributes additional risk factors that can increase the level of destruction. The effects may be minor, such as a blackening of the surface of monuments due to dust. Other impacts can have permanent consequences.…

Firstly, saving the environment will help to prevent the extinction of living organism. Living organism refers mainly to the wildlife and also the plants which is the source of oxygen. The existence of flora and fauna is very important in order to maintain a balanced ecosystem. Illegal activities such as deforestation and logging are the main contributor for the extinction of flora and fauna. For example, wildlife needs certain habitats to survive or will become extinct if their habitats are destroyed. Before we even damage the environment, we should question ourselves, wouldn’t it hurt our eyes to see those cute bears, birds or insects become extinct? Plus, it would be a shame if we could not introduce those animals to our grandchildren. Besides that, caring for the flora and fauna shows the value of humanity we possess in ourselves. The government can prevent this extinction from happening by enforcing the law and maximizing the penalty to the offenders. Thus, to prevent the extinction of living organism is a reason why we need to save the environment.…

There are well over five thousand endangered species on Earth and humans are the cause of it. Many animals are suffering and several hundred are already extinct. Many of the most beautiful creatures are now evanescent. People are also causing the destruction of the environment, which is home to millions of animals worldwide. Through poaching and obliteration of nature, humans have managed to diminish the very place they call home. There are charities such as the World Wide Fund for Nature with the motive to halt and reverse the annihilation of the environment. The international organization World Wide Fund for Nature works on issues regarding conservation, research, and restoration of the environment.…

Could pollution lead to the “End of the World”? Many people do not care about the consequences of some of their actions such as not following the rules to prevent harm to the environment when they are over manufacturing or when people are wasting some products made by natural sources, for example plastic bags or paper. The three negative effects of pollution are the decrease in the quality of human life, animal extinction and damage to the natural environment.…

Air and water pollution affect the biotic and abiotic environment on a global scale. All pollutants affect individuals in different ways, but mainly affect those with asthma or underlying respiratory conditions. Transportation and energy consumption are the biggest contributors to pollution and global warming. With world population on the rise, carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is also climbing a steep hill. CO2, a primary air pollutant, is the most major concern amongst environmental scientists, since it is the main culprit for ongoing climate change. CO2 is naturally occurring, and used by plants for photosynthesis, but large amounts emitted directly into the atmosphere by means of combustion make it a primary air pollutant that is affecting the natural temperature of our atmosphere, bringing adverse effects with it. Nitrogen oxides are another example of primary air pollutants, involved in the creation of photochemical smog, acid deposition, and ozone depletion. Nitrogen oxides include nitrogen dioxide, nitric and nitrous acid. NO2 is of most concern; it is a highly reactive gas emitted from vehicles and power plants that also affects the respiratory system of sensitive people, such as elderly and children. Compliance with current NO2 standards has ensured the protection of individuals once affected by this highly volatile gas.…
