Ponyboy Curtis From 'The Outsiders'

Ponyboy Curtis - A smart fourteen year old who belongs to a gang called the “Greasers”. He wonders why life is much more difficult for his friends and him than it is for the Socs. Pony loves his brother Sodapop, who is kind, loving, and understanding, but he doesn't get along with his older brother Darry. He doesnt alway agree with the gangs violent ways but still want that connection. Pony is very quiet, shy, and thoughful and prefers talking to Cherry and Johnny about sunsets. He doesn't always know what to do or say, but he believes it is important to be tough, and to belong.
Sodapop Curtis - Sodapop is sixteen and very loving, handsome, kind, and understanding. He hates when Ponyboy and Darry fight, but wants to take care of Ponyboy. Soda’s
Darrel is a twenty year old greaser who is raising Ponyboy and Soda because their parents died in a car crash, is strong, athletic, and intelligen., He has quit school and works two jobs inspite to hold the family together. He wants Ponyboy to have the opportunities he doesn't have, so he pushes him until he begins to act like a bully. Taking care of Pony and Soda is his greatest preference.
Johnny Cade - Johnny is the baby of the gang even though he isn't the youngest. He’s small, frightened, and jumpy. His parents abuse him, and the gang always wants to proctect and care for him. No one can get mad at him, not even Dally. He is one of Pony's closest friends. He rescues children from the burning church and thinks it's worth it when he dies from his injuries. According to Pony Johnny looks like “a little dark pupythat has been kicked too many times and is lost in a crowd of stangers”
Dallas Winston- Dallas the most dangerous member of the gang. He's been to jail and was involved in serious gang activity in New York City. He cares about Johnny, but believes it’s important to be tough and mean so you won't get hurt, so he tries not to be emotional about anything. He’s however hurt by Johnny's death that he gets himself killed. Pony says, “he got drunk, he rode in rodeos, lied, cheated, stole, rolled drunks, jumped small kids—he did everything. I didn't like him, but I had to respect
