‘Pope Francis to visit survivors of ‘Yolanda’ in Tacloban’

As Pope Francis goes Manila, Tacloban City will be one of the places he would be visiting on January 17, 2015 for six and a half hours to meet and check the current condition of the poor people who survived the disaster brought by typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) more than a year ago.

Palo, Leyte archbishop John Du in partner with SM Cares Foundation Incorporation had an agreement last August 2014 to construct 400 houses for Yolanda Survivors on archdiocese-owned land in Tacloban that is expected to accomplish before the Pope comes. A lot of people are waiting for Pope’s visitation to receive his blessings and words of wisdom from the words of God and let us realized that in every situation occurs he is here to guide us.

‘Philippine Nation waits for Papal Visit'

People are excited and waiting for Pope Francis arrival in the Philippines this coming January 15-19, 2015 to see the situation of Filipinos specifically in Tacloban, Leyte that severely affected by Typhoon Yolanda.

Catholics and devotees that are inspired by Pope are preparing for his visitation. They actually feel honored and thankful for his coming especially to the Philippines’ condition right now.

After his arrival, on January 16 he will go first to the Malcaῇang Palace for courtesy visit with President Noynoy Aquino and a welcome ceremony. Next, in Rizal Ceremonial Hall of the Palace to meet some authorities and diplomatic corps then a holy mass with the bishops, priests, religious men and women at the Cathedral- Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Manila After that, meeting with families at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Manila.

On January 17, Pope is expected to arrive in Tacloban city to have a holy mass then lunch with some survivors of Yolanda. Next, a blessing of the Pope center for the poor and meeting with the priests, men and women religious, seminarians and families of survivors at the
