Populist movements are becoming a major constituent into the politics of countries all around the world especially prominent in the developed countries of the world such as the European Nations and the United States. For example, in European countries the shared number of seats occupied by populist organizations have increased by an average of 12.6 percent. Populism is affecting modern society in many ways since the People’s Party helped raise awareness and concern for the plight of farmers and workers. Although the People’s Party was formed because of some internal struggles within the United States, globalization has been a key issue regarding the increase in populist movements in modern times. Similarly, Brexit is claimed to be an act of populism by some since the desire to leave of the European Union’s problems came from the heart (the people) of the United Kingdom. Problems in the European Union that have promoted populist movements are the globalizations of peoples, economies, and cultures. Globalization continues to become vary prevalent in the issues of populism as populist movements are influenced by many aspects of globalization such as immigration, economic integration, and trade.
