Portland International Airport Analysis
Portland International Airport (PDX) is located 20 minutes to the northeast of downtown Portland near the Columbia River. PDX is the largest airport in the state of Oregon and serves over 13 million passengers annually.

Arriving & Departing

Public Transfer from PDX
Going from PDX to the downtown of Portland using public transport is easy, because airport is well connected by public transit. It will take around 40-45 minutes for such trip. MAX train, operated by Trimet, is a light-rail system, which is the most convenient option to reach the downtown. In general, it has 5 lines marked by colors: Blue, Red, Yellow, Green and Orange. At the PDX, they are offered by various companies like PDX Yellow Cab, Green Cab, Portland Taxi Company and others. To take a taxi passengers should follow special signs that lead to the taxi stands. A taxi trip to the city center will cost around $35.

There are car rental companies at the PDX airport, which offer various cars for rent. To get downtown from the airport by car, take Interstate 205 south to Interstate 84, then go west and follow the signs to City Center. Passengers may also take a limo with a driver, which is more expansive, but also more comfortable.

Shuttles
Airport shuttles are located on the lower level outside of the baggage claim on islands 1, 2 and 3. It is the best way in terms of price and quality to get door-to-door service from the PDX to downtown Portland or other regions. There are more than 15 different companies offering airport shuttle services like SuperShuttle, Adam Airport Shuttle, Economy Shuttle, New Star Airport Shuttle and many more. Concourse D serves international and domestics flights of Delta Airlines, Hawaiian Air, Spirit, Virgin America, United, Condor, Icelandair, and Volaris.
Concourse E hosts Air Canada Jazz, SeaPort, United and United Express.

Airport Lounges

Passengers of Alaska Airlines, Delta and United can rest and wait for the next flight in the special airport lounges. They are also available for economy class traveller, but require purchase a day pass, annual membership or pay at the door. For military travellers there is the USO at the PDX airport, located at Mezzanine Level.
