Positive Effects Of The Industrial Revolution

Hear the loud sound of machines? Smell that nasty smog that is in the air? That is the product of the industrial revolution and it must be stopped. The industrial revolution is causing child labor, people are starving, and it is changing the class structure.

One of the many negative effects of the of the industrial revolution, are the living conditions of people who are working in the factories. Workers are forced to work long hours, have low pay for the long hours they put into their work, and since they are paid little they have little money for food so they are also starving. Another bad thing about the industrial is the child labor that is coming from it. Now that people are getting paid less for their work they need their children to
help work to make ends meet. However, because their children are now working, it means that they can’t go to school and learn, which will make them work in the factory all their lives. Another terrible thing about the child labor is how they are treated, many are beaten for doing a “bad” job, and many are made to crawl under machines while they are still running to collect cotton that has fallen down. Yet another bad thing about the industrial revolution is that the pollution/smog in there is much higher with all the coal burning to power the factory and all the machines within it.

One of the few positive effects of the industrial revolution is that there are now jobs for everyone.
Now that everyone has jobs they are able to buy more things such as food, clothes shoes, and increase the quality of life as a whole. Another good thing that came with industrialization is that there are now new innovations such as light bulbs, vaccines, and the telephone. However these innovations most likely would still be achieved without the industrial revolution. The only other good thing about the industrial revolution is modern buildings, now there were much more housing for the homeless people to live in.

One of the ways to improve the many bad effects of the revolution is to give workers higher wages. With higher wages workers will be able to work and earn enough money to rent a home, have kids, and be able to eat food. Not only does it help with that it also lets children be able to go to school because workers would be making enough to support themselves, put food on the table and be able to let their kids not work and be able to go to school. Another way to fix the negative effects of the industrial revolution is to have more regulation on the factories. With more regulation, there will be less pollution, and the government can enforce a minimum wage that the factories will have to pay their workers so they will be able to put food on the table, not only can they do that they can also, make child labor illegal until
they are a certain age or have taken a test to show they now how to read and write and know basic arithmetic.

In the end the industrial revolution is bad. The industrial revolution is bad because of child labor, the change in class structure, and the fact that people are starving, However, that doesn’t mean can’t be improved. With higher wages, and more regulation on the companies that run the factories the industrial revolution can be made into a good thing.
