This is what I think is overlooked and needs to be focused on, nurses are the primary patient contact and are there to help.
Inside the nursing profession I think there are a few varieties of nurses, those who care too much and those who care too little and then those who fall somewhere in between. I think the internal view nurses have of each other is again positive; but nursing burnout is viewed almost as normal when I think it is a combination of feeling unsatisfied in work which managers should see and address, and feeling
unnecessary. The feeling of being disposable can take a large bite out of someone confidence and motivation. One method of helping this feeling and improving the view of nursing all around is to have nurses become move involved in the community and assume leadership roles. Having a happy and motivated nurse an active member of the community can help the public's view of nurses and demonstrate the autonomy nurses process. Putting your education to work outside the hospital and bettering the community can also encourage the internal view of nursing to be one of development and importance.
