People who have high avoidant attachment usually stop their desire for association and avoid close social relationships with others (Richards & Hackett, 2016). Finkel, Eastwick, and Simposon (2016) found that “According to attachment theory, people develop emotional bonds with significant others (usually romantic partners in adulthood) and are motivated to maintain these bonds over time. Figure 5 looks at the mean of neuroticism and health results indicated that there was a significance between both variables, r (83)=.403, p .05. Discussion The study found no significant relationship between positive close relationships and health. This is inconsistent with most studies done in the past. One study done by Brown, Smith, Schiavone was that people appear to be happier when they have close social relationships. Happiness can be indicative of overall well-being and health. People who do are lonely are not as happy then people who have close social ties. The results indicated that there was no association between both variables. Another factor this study looked at was personality traits and health. Figure 1 provides us with the differences in gender, there were both females and males who self-reported that they had close relationships rather than intimate. Figure 2 also provided more psychology majors than any other majors which show that they are not represented of the overall CSUN population. This is a small sample of a bias/ pre-selected
