Oddly enough, the only thing that kept me going was my imagination. Because despite the problems experienced then, my imagination could not help but depict ideas about working as an artist, travelling the world, and more. Leading to the day of my final presentation. To clarify what I mean, the middle school I attended required each student to conduct a final project and presentation. My topic was the Panama Canal, so I spent many months making set milestones to complete this project; finishing a 10-page essay and spending hours practicing my speech in front of a mirror. However, the key element was a working replica of the lock system canal; courtesy of my Grandfather and Father, who were a massive help building it. Thinking about it now makes me chuckle. Due to the fact that after the presentation, I later found out, from my father, that I made my teacher cry. Yes, the same 8th grade math/homeroom teacher, who call me retarded, cry.
