Post Racial Society

Has America become a post racial society? Throughout the history discrimination and prejudices has been an ongoing phenomenon across the world. Each country has its own system which is bias toward certain groups of people. Why does a person skin color determine a person's values in the society? The idea of white skin has been an important factor in American culture. Today in the 21st century, there is evidence that African-Americans, Hispanics, Asian and other ethnicities are still being treated differently than whites.

Even though United States is the largest free country, there many racial attitudes today. According to the associated press poll, 12% of American overall harbor neither anti-whites or anti-black’s sentiment. Based on these
statistic one could infer that maybe they are educated and they don't want to be racists. Some people judge people before they get to know them. They don't know it make life very hard for people who actually experience it. Everyone is the same and should be treated equal. Just because people are of different skin color that does not make them different from another human being. Additionally, although 33% of Americans overall expressed anti-white sentiment, almost double that percentage 59% white expressed anti-black sentiment. Based on these statistic one could infer that 59% of white expressed anti-black sentiment because even though slavery ended a long time ago.Whites had a idea that blacks were a marginalized. Furthermore, while 47% of black expressed anti-white sentiment, almost 43% of black have similar opinion about their own race.Slavery ended long a time ago but still in America there many racial attitudes today.

The school to prison pipeline is when black or Latino students receiving suspension a lot time and getting punishment more than whites in school. It makes them hate school and they don’t get enough education. Those students left behind and easily to get into trouble or arrest. Instead, they make up 47 percent of students receiving suspensions or 2.35 times the percentage expected". they feel that school will have suspended them, no matter its big trouble or small things. Those students internalized these ideas and continue to act badly or drop out of school.
