1. A scholarly article about women’s participation in the French Revolution.
I chose the article, “All of His Power Lies in the Distaff: Robespierre, Women and the French Revolution”, by Noah Shusterman. For a person doing research on this topic this article explains why and how women supported Maximilien de Robespierre during the French Revolution which led to his success (Shusterman, 2014). Since women did not have the legal right to vote they would support their ideas through writings, publications, meetings, etc. (Shusterman, 2014). Robespierre's female supporters also increased opportunities for female political participation (Shusterman, 2014). I looked for this article through National University’s Library (seems to be the most fastest and reliable source), from there I used the EBSCO data base. I know this article is reliable because I got it from a reliable source, I verified the author, and made sure it was peer reviewed.

However, instead of going under the sociology subject tab, I looked under everything tab. I used the search words “Simon Bolivar and Nineteenth-Century independence movement in Latin America” first. Then, I had to take a few words out so I searched “Simon Bolivar independence movement in Latin America”. From there I selected the full text version of “Spanish Colonialism in Latin America and Simon Bolivar's Struggle for Independence”, by Ayse Yarar. This article could help someone whom is researching this subject by going into detail of the struggles that Simon Bolivar faced to gain independence (Yarar, 2013). I know this is a reliable source because I went to peer-reviewed only
