Introduction
This research paper is about power, power gain and power lose. What is the effect on people’s behavior when power increase and decrease. In this research paper four experiments are taken. These experiment were design to investigate the effect of power lose and power gain and to test the specific proposition that in exchange interaction, people will ask more than self’s when they gain power but that they will not ask less for them self’s when they lose power.
Power
This paragraph tells the definition of power. Most definitions of power focus on individuals intentional and effective capacity to control, modify or influence other by “providing or with holding resources or responsible for the implementation of punishments”.
For example, same work is done by two different people with different time. Say one of them does the work in 5 seconds and the other does in 8 seconds. Thus, the man doing same work in 5 seconds is more power full. The shorter the time the more power full the man. Typically, people who don’t have power or resources want them those who have them want to keep them.
Power and dependency
For example B’S dependency on A, the greater the power A has over B. when u posses anything that others require but that you alone control, you make them depended on you and, therefore you gain power over them. Dependency than is inversely proportional to the alternative source of supply.
Power gain
This paragraph say that if the given a choice to people, most people prefer position with more power to position with less power for example in an organization, manager can use power against employee, he has a power to hire, fire, reward or in any other way control. Power is associated with positive affect.
