Practice Vetted Bibliography

1. The Tyson video describes the impact of space exploration has on the world culture. The video provides several evidences showing the importance of space. I would use this video as a source for the vetted bibliography. Even though the source is not in written form, it still has a strong basis and argument. It provides support for the paper to argue the issues surrounding modern space travel. 2. The purpose of the video is to emphasize the significance of space exploration and continue to provide space curiosity towards the nation. I believe that the video touched in every one of these ways. It wants to persuade people to alter their thinking of what space really is and initiate change for the space program. It informed the reader of how from space exploration, motivated change for the earth’s future and the statistics of the space programs now. 3. If I wrote a paper that argued against support of space travel, I do not believe that I would be able to use the video as a source. Maybe I could use the statistics of NASA’s budget and how significantly small it is. Other than that, I do not believe that it would be a good source. On the other hand, if I were arguing in support of contemporary space travel, this video would be a worthy source. The video does a magnificent job reiterating change and action for the space programs. 4. The video was published on YouTube on June 3, 2012. It would matter to my topic whether the source is current. I believe so because the issues facing modern space travel are recent and so, the support for the paper needs to be current as well. If the source did not contain current information, a consequence to my credibility would be quite exacting. 5. Neil deGrasse Tyson is an astrophysicist and science communicator. He was born and raised in NYC and went to the Bronx High School of Science. He earned his BA in Physics at Harvard and his PH.D in astrophysics at

In 1961, the world was changed forever, Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin entered the spacecraft Vostok 1 and traveled into space. Following him in the same year, was the American astronaut Alan Shepard in Freedom 7. Then in 1969 the crew of the Apollo 11 mission landed on the Moon. This space race in the 1960s helped to light the fire of man’s interest in outer space and has lead mankind to wonder if we could live away from the comfort and safety of planet Earth. Many scientist and explorers have wondered if it would be possible to colonize the Moon or Mars for the purpose of research, resources, and hopefully a secondary home for the human race. However, many people have also doubted the idea of leaving the safety of planet Earth to explore other options of habitable places. Many argue that space exploration is dangerous and some critics argue that it is using too much money that could…

Opening Statement: The government uses approximately 17.6 billion dollars of the taxpayers money to fund NASA every year. We shouldn’t be funding NASA that money when our economy is the worst it’s been since the Great Depression; we need to focus and spend our money on the problems here on Earth. NASA hasn’t done anything significant in space in years. And it’s incredibly risky and dangerous going up there.…

Sometimes it takes some sleuthing on the 'about' page or using a search engine to learn what the site is really about. All websites are not 100 percent credible, perfection is impossible to achieve. There are sites quiet credible, but that's no guarantee. One reporter could be dishonorable, or one article will mess up the facts. Some tomes it could be possible that you are reading gossip, not news. You have to be careful about what you choose to believe on the internet. There is a lot of poorly researched, biased; sensationalist stuff out there. Nothing is business as usual any more. Anybody could get a website, and it only take twenty second to say something before it's on YouTube. The author behind the document, John P., works for Tech News World, a company with a trusted reputation. Straight off the back, this makes the document already strong and credible. John P. also uses varies different quotes to support his argument; therefore, making it stronger. In spite of this, John P. fails to credit the sources of the quotes; making the document less credible. Not only is this document overall credible, but also the YouTube video created by Mathew Patrick. Mathew Patrick is a well-known theorist on YouTube and is considered a reliable source. One of the strongest qualities that Mathew Patrick offers is that he sources all data included in the video. This ultimately, substantially increases the credibility of the video due to the fact that it is not often that videos or documents source all of their data. In the end, both documents have great credibility and strength in their…

Space exploration has always been fascinating, and it gives us hope of finding something new. According to the video “Space Race: 20th Century Timeline and Firsts,” “though the idea of space travel was discussed for hundreds of years, the field of rocketry got its first big boost in the early 20th century.” A century ago, space exploration was just a concept or a dream for mankind, but this idea had been accomplished by the developed of powerful rocket which overcome the force of gravity. In the beginning, on March 16, 1926 an American physicist, Robert A. Goddard, launched the first liquid fuel rocket in history. After World War II, the United States and the Soviet Union created their own missile programs. On October 4th 1957, the Soviets launched the first satellite into space. Later on, a national goal of “Landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to Earth within a decade” was set by President John F. Kennedy in 1961 (Space Race). On July 20, 1969, Astronaut Neil Armstrong was the first man walking onto the moon. The space exploration improved for the century, and now the advances of technology have pushed space travel to go further and discover other planets in solar system. However, in order to explore universe in details, many scientists have endeavored very hard to invent more new high technologies. Therefore, with its high technologies, space exploration has a lot of impacts on us today. For example, with the satellite system put up in the space, the weather forecast today has a high accuracy level, and this accuracy has helped in preventing many calamities. Besides the weather forecast, the satellite system also helps people to transmit the news or media all over the world almost instantly. Moreover, the researching space becomes a high paying jobs for many…

Space exploration is a vitally important task that helps countries around the globe discover new things about the universe they are a part of and expand the knowledge of students in subjects such as science or Astronomy alike. There are several factors that are to be considered when contemplating the importance of space exploration. One of the debatable questions that comes to mind is how much money can be collected for the cause? Another is addressing the dangers that the astronaut occupation implies, because who doesn’t remember learning about such devastating events like the explosion of the space shuttle Challenger in 1986? The final factor we must include when determining the importance of space exploration is the exposure of space exploration in the education system and why it is helpful to learn about historical space endeavors of our country, both its successes and disasters.…
