ABSTRACT
Practice teaching or practicum is more directly concerned with values and ethical issues than any other educational activity. The motivation for this study comes from the assumption that students feel stress during the practicum sessions due to the unethical behavior of supervisors and cooperating institutions. What is the nature of ethics followed by supervisors and cooperating institutes during the practicum? What are the reasons behind the unethical behavior of supervisors? What are the significant ethics which supervisors and cooperating institutes have to follow during the practicum? These are the questions which have been tried to get answered in this research paper. Researchers selected five public universities of Punjab. All Student Teachers (STs) enrolled in Education departments of selected five universities were target population of the study. Out of this population researchers selected thirty six (36) students from each university, who had successfully completed practicum. The multiple data sources consisted of questionnaire for students comprised of open ended and close ended questions and in-depth-interviews with faculty supervisors and heads of cooperating institutions. The study analyzed the responses of students about ethical considerations of the Faculty Supervisors (FSs) and cooperating institutes. The results provide evidence that the reasons behind the

    Confidentiality and privacy are two of the fundamental rights of every individual. Protecting these rights with respect to every patient’s personal information is not just ethical but a legal obligation as well. One of the key components of patient and nurse relationship is the assurance that each healthcare workers hold to respect, and that is to value and safeguard every patient’s information and their privacy. But when does the breach of confidentially happen? When is the nurse required to draw the line? An example of these applies on infectious diseases and cases of abuse, where challenges occur that compels the nurse to report the incident because the patient and public’s safety outweighs individual privacy. In the article discussed on bioethics on NBC’s ER episode, nurse Carol Hathaway was trapped on an ethical dilemma, whether to respect her patient’s confidentiality by committing to what she promised and not disclosing her patient’s personal information but risking her patient’s safety or breaking it to guarantee that her patient receives the right care and treatment (Nathanson, 2000). Ethical dilemmas are perplexing and definitely not easy for everyone involved. As nurses we have the responsibility to advocate for patients, together with the commitment to practice with beneficence, which is to take positive actions to help others.     This brief synopsis as a human service worker in which I make every effort to help people, groups, and communities to triumph over their issues and struggles. As a human service worker I almost certainly would come across many ethical predicaments that involve susceptible issues such as discrimination, social unfairness, and oppression, poverty, substance abuse and mental health issues. As a human service worker or provider my personal principles may become an ethical difficulty with reference to discrimination of any sort because of my private belief but of course I am conscious of how many ethical standards that can be challenged if I allow my individual view to develop into concern. Nevertheless of course I identify with knowing and should no bet use as an unbiased conclusion unless the circumstances turn out to be dangerous to myself or the client involved. Next, if this circumstance come to pass then I would use the code of moral principles produced by the national association of human service workers as a most important point addressing ethical predicament which it may cause. On the other hand, I was in a circumstance where a person that I was helping he was very serious and clear in his mind and full detail about who he wanted to work with and talk too. He was discriminating against a co worker because of skin color and race although we were on the job and others was watching him he decided to be rude and very sarcastic for no apparent reason. I wanted to voice my opinion but I didn’t but finally one day I decided to read the code of ethics at work and fill out a report on him with other co workers so that the discrimination could stop.
