it is very important and being able to see it incorporated in the classroom was beneficial. I also got to see how my teacher responded when technology failed and she expressed to be that it always important to have a backup plan. I thought it was interesting to see students interact with one another. The class I observed the class interacted with the same sex rather than the opposite sex. There was one boy who only hung out with the girls and he did not have any behavioral problems. On the other hand, the rest of the boys acted out more than the girls. I enjoyed watching the interact with my teacher she had developed a close relationship with each one of them. Throughout the practicum, I thought it went well because I learn a lot.
I learned how to dress like a teacher and what it takes to become one. Also, how important it is to develop a strong relationship with your students, their parents, and colleagues. When I think back I cannot find anything that went wrong. Before my practicum, I expected it to be more observing and sitting in the back taking notes, and helping the teacher when needed. My teacher gave me the first two days to observe and follow her around and the rest of the week she had me involved and engaged in the classroom. I got the chance to teach a group of students a game called mystery number. I also read the class a book called snoring beauty and went over the story plot. One day I got to do the morning routine I got to welcome the students in the classroom, do attendance, lead the pledge allegiance, and start the morning news. Mrs. Sherman gave me the opportunity to give students a vocabulary test and I helped with a science experiment. I got to see the learning and teaching process and be a part of it. I feel that it is different watching someone teach than be the one who is teaching. The education course I feel is helping me prepare to be a better teacher by what I am learning in the class and having the practicum
experience.
