The practicum learning agreement created between the masters of Science in nursing (MSN) student and the instructor was approved for the goal to perform in the role of a nurse educator at the Domiciliary Rehabilitation Program at the Orlando Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC). The population of the Domiciliary Residential Rehabilitation Program is veterans with multiple and severe medical conditions, mental illness, addiction, or psychosocial deficits. Military-related posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can negatively affect the veteran’s well-being (Health Services Administration, 2010). The care needs of the nursing staff were assessed to identify the need for the educational program in the rehabilitation program. Further development, implementation and evaluation of a program to improve the veteran’s quality-of-life were the objectives to provide the best outcomes of a teaching/learning program. The learning agreement included the strategies to accomplish the objective with an established time-line and self-reflective journal to meet the best outcomes. Professional relationships were established with a mentor and networking with the organization improved professional advancement capabilities at the Orlando VAMC. Evaluation of the effectiveness of the project produced positive outcomes to improve the veterans’ quality of life. The role of a leader used evidence-based decision-making and applied ethical standards. The importance of nursing theory provided the principles to generate nursing knowledge and create practices to help the veterans who are affected by PTSD. The practicum experience enhanced the role as a nurse educator to improve cost-effective nursing practices for the veterans at the VA Medical Center.…

Mead & Hampson (1996) developed a study involving the divided visual field paradigm and a phonological rhyme/non-rhyme task to test the speed and accurateness of either side of the brain. This study was used to investigate functional asymmetry between the left and right hemispheres in phonological processing. The research was taken out equally on 15 male and 15 females London Metropolitan University students ranging from ages 18 – 35 years old. They were all specifically chosen to be right–handed and had English as their first language thus providing a fair experiment to see whether our left hemisphere (left side of the brain) or the right hemisphere is faster and more accurate. In conclusion using the mean and standard deviation to determine our hypothesis, it was calculated that the left hemisphere had a higher mean and standard deviation score compared to the right hemisphere.…

    1. After gain such insight into back grounds I believe that it is detrimental for every man that was to govern or shepherd a flock to be well equipped in the area of biblical back grounds. Although it is not a sufficient, it is very necessary to gain the understanding that comes from the text. Background is also another crucial hermeneutical tool. That can give us proper insight to the true understanding of what the author was trying to say to the readers of that day. And if the readers in this modern day can get the real message that the original author was trying to convey to the modern day audience. I believe that pastors and teachers should get the highest level of back ground although history is not the only way to interpret the passages of in scripture but the background from non-canonical and socio-cultural standpoints can give the readers a better way to look at how and why the scriptures were constructed and format of the passages. These studies of backgrounds just show us why these passages were spoken to the specific passages and then allow the teachers to correctly apply it to their flock. But first pastors/ teacher need to have the most holistic meaning before they can deliver a message of scripture because it is God holy and divine word and they have to be careful on what they are trying to say because if they do not understand what the author is trying to say to the specific audience then the message cannot be properly deliver to Gods intended audience, and then because false teaching and sends the followers of Christ astray because they did not have the proper meaning because there was no broad study of why this passage was written and why it was constructed and formatted in that fashion.…
