Society has forbid premarital sex from the very outlook that adolescence is the time to form oneself as mature and responsible human being and not at all a time to procreate. Sex in itself, is not wrong at any age; but premarital sex may harm the mental development of adults in several forms. Premarital sexual experiences, many a times, leads to the misconception that sex is to be enjoyed at whatever ways possible. Forced premarital lovemaking will lead to mental depression and dilemma. Another danger is possible exchange of diseases; as premarital partners may not be aware of diseases that spread through intercourses. Getting pregnant through premarital sex is another disaster. Emotional imbalances and guilt feeling could be the result of most premarital sexual affairs.
Human sexual activity or human sexual practice is the manner in which humans experience and express their sexuality. People engage in a variety of sexual acts from time to time, and for a wide variety of reasons such as physical, goal-based, emotional and insecurity reasons. Human sexual activity, like many other kinds of activity engaged in by humans, is generally influenced by social rules that are culturally specific and vary widely. These social rules are referred to as sexual morality (what can and cannot be done by society's rules) and sexual norms (what is and is not expected).
Our country, the Philippines, as a predominantly Christian country, considers that the only sexual behavior morally and legally acceptable and appropriate is heterosexual intercourse within a monogamous marriage, with the exception of polygamous marriage as practiced by some Filipino minority groups and by Muslim communities in the Mindanao, southern, and south-western regions of the Philippines, as long as the men of these population are financially capable of supporting their multiple wives. Despite the influence of westernization and globalization, the overall culture remains quite conservative in its sexual values.
However, Filipino culture gradually changes eventually. People especially teenagers are starting to engage into sexual activities such as premarital sex. Filipinos are conservative in nature, they put value on morality. Despite this, there is still a high prevalence of premarital sex in the country. Premarital sex is sexual intercourse engaged in by persons who are unmarried. It is generally used in reference to individuals who are presumed not yet of marriageable age or between adults who are engaging in sexual activity prior to marriage.
Engaging to such act comes with great consequences such as teen pregnancy, unwanted pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases (STD’s), identity crisis, insecurity and many others.
The researchers believe the need to know about the opinions of students in Holy Name University regarding premarital sex and their awareness of the consequences of committing such act.

America was founded by Europeans searching for freedom yet there was a class of people who were given no rights and could not enjoy the freedom granted to the majority of society in this new world. This became one of the most important and tragic issues in America. This dark period in America’s history is that of slavery. It was an issue that literally divided the country. There were many broad questions that were posed over this period not only to the legality of slavery but some also argued against slavery simply on moral grounds. Beginning in the late 18th century states in the north began to pass laws making slavery illegal. The southern states though held firmly to their perceived right to keep slaves. The debate over slavery would eventually tear the nation apart as states began to pass laws that conflicted with other state’s laws as well as federal laws. Many cases were brought into the courts that dealt with these many conflicts involved in these state’s positions. The leaders on the states would try over a long period of time to reduce the tensions in an effort to hold the union together but ultimately would fail. There was one case that is the most notable though as its decision would be the catalyst that would finally pave the way for pushing the country into a civil war that would forever change the country’s laws and finally give citizenship throughout the country to a part of the population that had been denied the basic rights afforded to everyone.…

Courts often prove to be corrupt through the abundance of wrongful or unfair convictions found within them. Many people around the world have been wrongfully convicted, and sentenced to death despite their innocence because of issues like “eyewitness misidentification,” “junk science,” “false confessions,” “government misconduct,” “snitches,” and “bad lawyering” (Causes of Wrongful Convictions). As an attempt to assuage this unleveled playing field, several corporations have been established with the intent to exonerate those who are wrongfully convicted. Corporations, like the Innocence Project, which is a corporation in the United States, take on cases of those who seem to be wrongfully convicted, and appeal them to the court in hopes of…

Premarital sex is known as an individual having sexual intercourse with another before marriage or engagement. In America, 52 percent of the population considers premarital sex to be not wrong at all. Among those who answered the survey, the option of premarital sex to be not wrong at all was the highest opinion. The reason for this is because one stated, “Because sex whether people want to believe it or not is very important.” Another proclaimed that it is wrong only sometimes based upon beliefs and depends upon the age. Looking into the readings over the chapter, only 21 percent of Americans consider premarital sex to be always wrong mainly because of the religious values and morals; however that is not always the case. A world without premarital sex would lessen sexually transmitted disease (STDs), there would be no unwed mothers, and there would be reduced causes of unwanted pregnancies and abortion. The above rightly capture the concern which premarital sex has generated among policy makers, researchers and even religious leaders. The rise in premarital sex in Africa has resulted from a sexual revolution that came with western culture (Scott, 2006). Sex in southwest Nigeria before now was regarded as sacred and limited only to adult males and females within marriage (Alo, 2008). Public opinion polls have consistently shown that premarital sex is wrong and dangerous to health, resulting in abortions, teenage mothers and sexually transmitted infections (Aaron, 2006; Finer, 2007).Nigeria is a relatively culturally conservative country; the topic of sex is still considered a taboo between parents and children. A child learns through the mass media and peers unguided. Children learn the important topic of sex education in negative manners, rather than having proper sex socialization at home or in schools. Premarital cohabitation has been reported as a common phenomenon among Nigerian University undergraduates (Alo, 2008). Cohabitation of opposite sex is a predisposing factor to the initiation of sexual activities.…
