Scientists now say that when it comes to wooing a lady, the malodorous male may enjoy a distinct advantage over his sophisticated and sanitized rival, much to the indignation of the latter. It seems that such discrimination might be due to the karmic consequences of using deodorants. A recent study conducted by biologists at the University of Pennsylvania has revealed that the locker room aroma of male perspiration helps to reduce stress and induce relaxation in women. If the way to a man’s heart is said to be through his stomach, it seems that the way to a woman’s favours is via her nose. When asked, why women choose the men they do, a philosopher is said to have replied “Who knows?” in fact, ‘Who nose’ might have been more apt. it can, however, be argued that the face or the physique was never a serious consideration in the rat race for female affections, considering that women were reputed to have a nose for greenbacks rather than an eye for biceps. But now it seems the dice is heavily loaded in favour of what lies beneath the arm rather than what lies between the ears, with eau de pasina scoring heavily over eau de cologne. Always accused to smelling a rat where none existed, women can now hope for a legitimate way of sniffing around. Perfumed deodorants may go our of fashion as men learn to enhance their natural bodily odours by egg or onion sprays. Always fastidiously clinging to the proper use of the language, Dr. Johnson, the lexicographer, was once assailed by a lady at a party with the words, “Oh! Sir, you smell!” Which the good man was quick to correct as, “No, ma’am you smell. I stink”.

Biologists have come to the conclusion through their study that men’s body smell emanating from perspiration helps women to reduce their tension. In this finding there is a suggestion that men not using synthetic pleasant smelling scents are more likely to be favoured by women than the men stopping the

Trump wants to end DACA. I think that he shouldn’t end DACA.The DACA program allows undocumented young adults work in the country legally. DACA was an Obama-era program. “The DACA program, announced by President Obama in June, 2012, provided recipients with protection from deportation for two years, which could be renewed, and allowed them to work(Alvarez, 3). I think that Trump is scared of undocumented people and what they could become. If they are continued allowance in the U.S. Immigration Services and U.S. Citizenship gave work to thousands of undocumented immigrants giving them the ability to work, to make something of themselves. The executive branch has legal authority to implement DACA. More than 100 law professors signed a letter…

He initiates his monologue by directing the ladies to compare their men with him and indicating they can the least smell like him by using the Old Spice body wash. Then, the scene quickly transitions to a scene on his yacht giving him a sense of pride. However, this time he uses emotions to attract women rather than stating. As he magically appears on a luxurious boat in a placid ocean, moreover shirtless with a silky pant, he conveys that “real men” should treat women like this. In the background, tied to the boat are flags of countries that he has supposedly travelled to, which signifies his standards. He then moves on to the beach with an oyster in his hand. Furthermore, the oyster holds “two tickets to that thing [they] love” which then melts away into diamonds. As he addresses directly to women, he indicates that they are more satisfied with the true man as he knows what appeals to a woman. In the last scene, he shifts from the beach to horseback riding, signifying that “Anything is possible…”. He then adds, “I am on a horse” to add on to his humor and ridiculousness. The final image of Mustafa sitting on a white, majestic steed gives his audience a sense of a charming prince, ready for an adventure. Mustafa consistently assumes that the men are not already using the Old Spice body wash, and therefore he declares that these men smell like a lady and are not manly. Old Spice offers a solution for many of men’s problems. With it, men will not only become manly but also can satisfy women with their masculine scent and appeal. The ad claims that Old Spice has the ability to achieve impossible and that other brands don’t, therefore convincing the audience to…

History can prove that the consciousness of fertility can cause females to flaunt just how fertile they are to the proper mating pool through ornamentation. It was researched through the observation of mating rituals in birds. Females are known to lavishly decorate their nests with flowers, leaves and the best twigs they can find just to attract a suitable mate. Although the studies and observations can prove that females tend to make themselves stand out to a partner, yet, there is still the question of why. In a study (Hasleton, Mortezie, Pillsworth, Bleske-Rechek, Fredrick 2007) has come up with a study on ornamentation and how it is affected by shifts in the ovulatory cycle. Hasleton et al. (2007) hypothesizes “that changes in women’s motivations manifest themselves in changes in self-ornamentation through attentive personal grooming and attractive choice of dress.” thus a woman is more motivated to go out and find a man once they have adorned themselves in the proper dress that makes them feel attractive.…

Once a short, fat boy, now a tall, well-built one, he acquired quite a stench throughout the quick transition. His armpits and feet could have killed the pigs in the hog confinements, but he could not smell a thing. Like most boys, he does not get very excited about showering, brushing his teeth, and applying deodorant. If he did, his name would not show up in this essay. The strong smell is almost hot, and over the course of a few years, he received enough comments and looks to understand the criticism his sister gave him about his stench was not just malice; he reeked, and everyone knew it. Making deodorant a habit made a substantial difference, but his showering and teeth cleansing habits could use some work. The odor has become less smelly than before, but his future, non-smelly days cannot come soon enough.…

Sexual selection can be used to explain certain characteristics or behaviours which increase an individual’s reproductive success. These characteristics may get exaggerated over evolutionary time. In humans, these characteristics may include good physical and mental health, as well as physical features such as good looks etc. these characteristics are attractive because they show an ability to reproduce and pass on these genes to offspring. There are two types of sexual selection, intrasexual and intersexual. Intrasexual selection is the evolution of characteristics that enable an individual to compete with their rivals whereas intersexual selection is the evolution of characteristics that are attractive to a mate. An example of this would be a peacock’s tail. The peacock with the ‘best’ tail (longest and brightest etc.) is considered to be more attractive to the peahen and therefore he is more likely to reproduce and pass on his genes to the next generation. Buss, 1989, found evidence to support this. Over 10000 participants across 37 different cultures took part in his study on differences in intersexual selection. Questionnaires were given to the participants, asking about preferences for variables such as marriage, age differences, characteristics etc. He found that women valued qualities such as ambition and industriousness in men – qualities showing their financial potential. He also found that men valued youth and physical attractiveness more highly than women. This suggests that males look for qualities associated with fertility in line with evolutionary predictions. He concluded that women have evolved to select mates who can provide resources for themselves and their offspring. Buss’ study had over 10000 participants and therefore has credibility, however the participants may have not given a truthful answer and instead given one they thought would appear more…

November 2009, a moment in my life will never be forgotten. My day started off as it usually would. Started my morning off with a nice warm shower, brushed my teeth and picked out my outfit for the day. That weekend I was so excited to travel to the Bronx New York to spend time with family and friends. My best friend picked me up from my mom’s house and then down to the gas station as I’m pumping the gas I see my best friend walking towards the car with serious face. As he approached the car while I’m pumping the gas he told me that my mom was trying to call my cell phone. I called my mom and I say “hello”. I was so confused to why she answered the phone with a sad voice. She replies “Jon I’m sorry? Your great grandmother passed away?” I said “NO SHE DIDN’T SHE KNOWS IM GOING TO SEE HER THIS WEEKEND! NO MOM NO that’s not true”. I quickly hung up and called my grandmother Amy phone but, there was no answer. Then I get a call back from my grandmother. She answers “I’m sorry son.” Me scared and confused “Grandma! Grandma it’s me Jon Where’s abuela? This not funny put her on the phone grandma.” she replies “Jon like I said I’m sorry. The family is meeting up at the hospital to talk.” She hung up. I looked at my best friend and he seen my face as I began to breath heavy even harder and cry more and more he grabbed me and rubbed my back and told me “I’m sorry everything will be ok”. We begin the drive back to my mom house. The drive back to my mom house I told my best friend to pull over and let me catch my breath. My heart felt so heavy.
