With much more discomfort setting in for the week, the visits to the doctor increase as he or she might be preparing you for the labor. An array of medical examinations is likely to be a part of your week at the moment where the doctor would deduce the need for medications which would avoid complications at the labor.

• All the organs in the baby are mostly matured by now barring the lungs which are still in the growth and development phase.
• As the fat layer beneath the skin fast develops at this point of time, it is but obvious that the baby looks more plump and healthy and takes up all the facial characteristics as well.
• Occurrence of hiccups in the babies is normal to start off in this week and thus do not panic!
The Mother’s Body changes:
• Whilst the earlier few weeks have been tough for you, given that the lungs and the chest felt pressurized all the time, with the baby coming down at the pelvic region during this week things are normal and your lungs and chest feel relaxed.
• Your belly button would be more than touchy now and extremely sensitive.
• Some of the other things that you might experience at this moment are heartburns, inflammation in the wrists, hands, legs, face, feet and the ankles. In case the inflammations are added with severe bouts of dizziness, upper abdominal pain or headaches, it might be caused by water retention known as pre-eclampsia which can be reduced by reducing the amount of water intake.
Important tips:
• It is better to have small and repeated meals at least six or seven times in a day as it helps in curbing the issue of heartburns in this period.
• The discomfort that you might be already tired off should not be increased by wearing ill fitted and tight clothing and should be replaced with baggy and loose clothing which makes you feel comfortable and relaxed.
• As the pain and stress at the back, hands and feet tend to increase with each passing week now, it is better to seek appointment from a masseuse in case none at your home knows the massaging tricks. This would not only help reduce your bouts of pain associated with pregnancy but also relax your body as well.
• Exercising and moving your body as much as possible is also a key to having a healthy pregnancy and thus should be practised after consulting with your
doctor.
