Pregnant Persuasive Speech
Sorry to break it to my friend that, it is true that when you are pregnant you are not able to drink or smoke because it can harm the baby. It can murder your baby but if that is not the case, your baby can come out with defects. I have seen lots of cases that when the mother drinks during her pregnancy her baby comes out having some type of disorder or a defect. It is sad to see that because of the mother’s bad choice the baby suffers at the end. Not only is the drinking and the smoking can affect the baby but the foods that she eats. “But it isn’t just food that affects the fetus. Almost anything a woman eats, drinks, inhales, injects, sniffs, snorts, or rubs on her skin can pass through the placenta” (428). Being pregnant is very complicated because everything little thing can affect the child.

When women drink while they are pregnant the child comes out with a fetal alcohol syndrome where the child has variety of brain abnormalities and cognitive deficits. “The half-million infants to which they annually give birth are smaller and more likely to have perceptual and attentional problems in childhood” (430). The child could also come out with facial features associated with short eye openings, a flat midface, a flat ridge under the nos, a thin upper lip, and an underdeveloped jaw. All of things can affect the fetus in the womb of the mother. You turned out find by luck but there are other babies that do not. I advice my friend that if she is going to have a child in her marriage that she makes the right choices so that the baby does not come out hurt.
