This week Joe and I reviewed the matching between inpatient Prescription COT and Epocrates entries. So far this is looking very promising. Our methodology was to take all COT ordered at all our live hospitals to date, as well as the frequency of the orders (i.e. Number of orders for each COT). and see how the line up to Epocrates. Our findings were that, unweighted, 88.4% of the COT ordered would have a matching monograph which we feel is acceptable, many that did not match were items like vitamins, some OTC drugs and IV carrier fluids. More promising is that weighted based on the frequency of order 99.5% of COT actually ordered to date would have a monograph. Data is here to review.
We are still flushing out some edge
cases to tweak our mapping, but our team feels the metrics are positive enough to move forward on this project for 16.5.
