About soccer in England
The favorite sport of the English people is something I want to tell you about. This is, of course, English soccer; the British call it soccer as well as football.

Wherever in the world you are the local football league is known and respected. The Premier League is playing now in its eleventh season. English football is very good in many respects.

About Premier League
The Premier League is an English professional league for football clubs. At the top of the English football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. It is contested by 20 clubs, operating a system of promotion and relegation with The Football League. The Premier League is a corporation in which the 20 member clubs act as shareholders. Seasons run from August to May, with teams playing 38 games each. It is sponsored by Barclay Bank, and is therefore officially known as the Barclays Premier League.
The competition formed as the FA Premier League on 20 February 1992 following the decision of clubs in the Football League First Division to break away from The Football League, which was originally founded in 1888, and take advantage of a lucrative television rights deal. The Premier League has since become the world's most watched sporting league. It is the world's most lucrative football league, with combined club revenues of around £1.4 billion in 2005–06, which are expected to rise to around £1.8 billion for 2007–08 due to media revenues. It is also ranked first in the UEFA rankings of leagues based on performances in European competitions over the last five-years, ahead of Spain's La Liga and Italy's Serie A.
A total of 42 clubs have competed in the Premier League, but only four have won the title: Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, Arsenal, and Chelsea. The current champions are Manchester United, who won their tenth Premier League title in the 2007–08 season, the most of any Premier League team.

The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league composed of 32 teams divided equally between the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC). The highest level of professional football in the world,[4] the NFL runs a 17-week regular season from the week after Labor Day to the week after Christmas, with each team playing sixteen games and having one bye week. Out of the league's 32 teams, six (four division winners and two wild-card teams) from each conference compete in the NFL playoffs, a single-elimination tournament culminating in the Super Bowl, played between the champions of the NFC and AFC. Most games are played on Sundays, with games regularly held on Mondays and Thursdays.…

The NFL was formed in the year 1920 with 11 teams, and called themselves American Professional Football Association. At the start American football was a mix of rugby and the new style of football. At first it wasnt making a lot of money from the start because baseball was always considered "Americas Game" and as history would go on football would slowly take that name over. The Professional Football Association later changed its name to the National Football League. In the 1920′s Conzelman played for Rock Island, Milwaukee, Detroit, and Providence.…

Since people do not change, they will not adapt or even attempt to try something new. Americans that say it is boring is just the excuse they make for not being exposed to it from an early age. If those people went to a live game, they would be hooked (and a pro game at that, not a youth game). When a player gets tackled (a soccer tackle is much different from the tackle that us Americans consider a tackle), they fall and pretend to be hurt. The thing is, they’re not pretending the majority of the time. Other aspects of it are quite exciting. But there is a difference to the way fans cheer for their team even here in the United States. Since England is a small country, it does not take fans long to travel from match to match. Now I mention this because of their passion. It is passion that Americans are completely oblivious to. That passion kills. In many examples there are gangs (Bloods and Crips type gangs) called firms that follow the team and riot against the opponent’s fans or firm. They take a love of the game and turn it into violent crimes that involve drugs and the drug trade. This is called hooliganism. That alone is a particular reason why some people die for their “football” team. There is one particular event in sporting history that nearly all of American sports fans are completely unaware of: the Hillsborough Disaster. On April 15, 1989…

Another way of looking at it is by calculating the total revenue that the Premier League makes then dividing it between all the players. By doing this, we can find an average value that a premier league player should be getting in a year. In a year, the premier league gets a total of £2.13 billion. There are 300 players in the teams in the premier league (each team has 25 and there are 20 teams). If you divide the total revenue by the number of players, you see that each premier league player should be earning £7.1 million every year. If you look at the actual statistics for how much each player earns on average, it is £1.2 million every year. This means that players should earn 7 times more than they do in the premier league and all this excess money is going to the owners…
