President Obama Speech

I have to agree with President Obama on one issue, poisonous gas should not, must not ever be used against any living thing; however I do not think that the United States should bear the full cost of any action taken against Syria. President Obama's passionate appeal to retaliate against the Syrian regime for the death of hundreds of children appears hollow when we consider what the US did in Iraq under the same pretext of weapons of mass destruction. The US bombing and the consequential war killed thousands of Citizens of Iraq including children and the consequences are felt even today by the whole world. The US should understand the internal conflicts of the Islamic World where fratricide is a normal way between the Shia Sunni war from the 7th century. As long as the Islamic world is not willing to reject even a single word of the Koran these type of conflicts are bound to continue and it would be better for the rest of the world to permit the Islamists to settle their disputes amongst themselves rather than interfere and bring the dangers to the shores of other countries in the world. Russia and China with their large Islamic minorities know clearly how to get out of theses conflicts and it is high time the US and its Western allies learnt these lessons. Assad's offer to ban chemical weapons should be pursued instead of the US jumping into Middle East conflagration and burnt for decades for no fault of US citizens but the aspirations of becoming the world's police chief by their US presidents whether it is Bush or Obama!
