SITUATION ANALYSIS
Mr. Manson being the president of the Dashman Co. is in the position to change the structure of the company from decentralisation to centralisation because it’s the time of World War II & the US armed forces demanded the arms & equipment heavily. The Dashman Co. is making many types of arms and equipment & has 20 plants located in the central part of the country which are run by managers independently.
To meet the demand & to overcome the problem of securing certain essential raw materials Mr.Manson appointed Mr. Post as the vice president of the company, who had an experience of being a purchase executive earlier. Mr Manson to help Mr. Post asked Mr. Larson to be Mr. Post’s assistant as Mr. Larson seem to be working with the company since years so he was an experienced person of the company who could help Mr. Post to manage his work. Mr Manson tried to help Mr. Post in each & every way possible he gave him enough powers to meet his organizational goals. As Mr Post had the talent of procuring resources he started with his first step which was to centralize all the company’s purchasing procedure. He sent his decision through a formal channel used by the Co. The decision informs us that any Plant making a purchase more than $10,000 has to inform prior to the head office take their approval. Mr Larson being the experienced person of the company was trying to help Mr Post in his work but Mr Post did not listen to his idea to meet the purchase executives of the plant personally and rejected the idea. Mr Post followed Autocratic style of leadership.
Though earlier some Plants have agreed to coordinate with Mr Post but later on Mr Post could not maintain a check on it. Due to which even after 6 weeks he was not informed from the Plants which

The one of the macro problems Wengart Aircraft is having is that they are the second largest company in the industry but are only ranked sixth in profitability (Brown, 2011). Wengart gets a large amount of contracts but they are spending a lot of money reworking most of the aircrafts after they come off of the production line. Another problem is the quality of their aircrafts is in question with the Secretary of Defense and other private customers. The Secretary of Defense has gone as far to say if there is not an improvement in quality they will start holding portions of their payments as penalties. This would not be good because Wengart is already struggling to make profits due to the poor quality of work. In order to fix these problems Ralph Larsen the president of Wengart has brought in an organization development practitioner to help him understand the TQM that the Department of Defense wants him to implement. This leads to the biggest problem Wengart is facing because after the practitioner makes his points, Larsen thinks that the TQM is common sense and that Wengart is already doing most of the points. Larsen than calls a meeting of his vice presidents and put Kent Kelly in charge of the program, even after one of the vice presidents suggested Larsen be in charge of the program because the TQM should be a joint project meaning the human resources and production departments work together. Larsen however did not feel that he had the time to be in charge of the program because he wanted to concentrate his efforts to increasing profits. After the meeting Kelly sends a memo to Allan Yoshida explaining the TQM program, with that information Yoshida calls a meeting of manager and line supervisors to give them the details of the TQM program. Yoshida than went and email all employees an outline of the TQM plan and told them to ask their managers or supervisor for more details if they had questions. After that rumors began to…

A rematch between two bitter rivals, Andrew Jackson and John Quincy Adams, the presidential election of 1828 was highlighted by the split of electoral votes in New York and Maryland. Andrew Jackson had swept through the west, gaining every single state, and even got Pennsylvania. The winner from the election of 1824 by the ‘corrupt’ bargain, John Q. Adams, had gained the support of all the northeast states. However, the real surprise was the split electoral votes in Maryland and New York.…

Thomas Jefferson vs Alexander Hamilton, one of the chief rivalries at the center of American politics through the first two decades, split the nation by ideology and purpose. Hamilton, a staunch Federalist, and Jefferson with his agrarian democracy, could not agree on much in regards to the structure and role of government. During the first term of the Washington administration, Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton were both serving on the Cabinet as the Treasurer and Secretary of State respectively. Their constant disagreements over fiscal policy, such as Hamilton's proposal for a central bank, led to Jefferson's resignation from the administration. President Washington would hold a grudge against Thomas Jefferson for the rest of his life after the latter formed an anti-administration party with James Madison. The factionalism caused by the Alexander Hamilton vs Thomas Jefferson rivalry would eventually lead to the formation of the country's first political parties. Hamilton's Federalists held the early advantage over Jefferson's Republicans, later known as the Democratic-Republicans.…

    The American President

    • 847 Words

When I think of which characteristics that makes a good president I expect that person to be honest, trustworthy and confident. The President is our country’s leader. A leader needs to be trusted and be known to live their life with honestly and integrity. A good leader is confident. In order to lead and set the direction of our country the president needs to appear confident as a person and in the leadership role. Each and every American president is looked at differently by people. Of the presidents that I have studied so far I think that Presidents Washington, Jackson and Lincoln have shown that they were honest, trustworthy and confident in their abilities. President Washington was so highly trusted as a leader and citizen that he turned down a bid by some of his officers to be named king. Instead, he was very aware that his actions as President would set precedents for the future of the office and he carefully considered every step he took. When General Washington was suffering year after year of humiliating defeats before going on to final victory he paid his troops out of his own pocket to keep them from going home. Washington earned the unlimited confidence of those early citizens of the United States. President Jackson once said, "Every good citizen makes his county's honor his own, and cherishes it not only as precious but sacred. He is willing to risk his life in its defense and it’s conscious that he gains protections while he gives it." This quote by Andrew Jackson reflects his views as a president, military leader, and American citizen. President Lincoln was most certainly known for his honesty. He is regarded by many Americans as the greatest president to ever hold office in the history of the United States, and his reputation is definitely well deserved. Lincoln wasn't scared to stand up and fight for what he knew was right. He was able to lead our country and preserve the Union, keeping the United States from…
