Pretty Girls Book Report
Pretty girls was written by Karin Slaughter and is 394 pages long. The book is about a college girl that was taken away from her family it so happens that more girls are kidnapped then boys. They don't know where she is or what happened to her and the police department can't even find out what happened to her. The family fell apart and the sisters grew so far apart that they didn’t even talk to each other in seventeen years. When they finally come back together they put together the clues to find out what happened to their sister. In the beginning of the book it talks about how the main character Claire, her husband Paul and her flaky sister Lydia. Claire and Paul met in college and they get along very well. After college they get married and Paul starts out his business and it takes off. Soon they are rich and live in a big house one night after being in a bar they are walking down an alley when a man jumps out of his van and kills Paul right in front of Claire. Claire is devastated. Claire has no idea why Paul had to die and blames the man that did it.

They ran into each other at Paul's gravesite where Claire was mourning the death of her husband and Lydia was yelling at him and calling him psychotic. After she went home Claire was looking through the rest of Paul’s things and she found files of women that he had private detectives watch and take notes on. Claire then contacts Lydia to see if she can help her get to the bottom of Paul’s past. Together Lydia and Claire do detective work to find out more about Paul. They looked through all of his things and as they found more and more files of all of the girls that he had watched. The deeper they went the more and more dirt they dug up on Paul.
