The genesis and growth of a group always goes through five stages: forming, storming, norming, performing and adjourning. Forming is always the first stage, where the group members meet for the first time and roles as well as structure and purpose are not firmly established. This stage closes when the individuals label themselves as a group. Appropriately named, the storming stage is defined by intragroup conflict in the areas of limited autonomy and leadership, and is a critical in group development. The resolution of this stage comes with a visible leader along with rankings of group members. After the dust has settled, the norming stage begins with development of cohesiveness, close relationships, and ends when organization of the group solidifies into expected roles and behaviors. Actual group function starts in the performing stage where the group is wholly accepted and can begin working toward the task that was assigned. For hundreds of years people from all over the world have seen the works of William Shakespeare performed by thousands of actors. Twelfth Night or What you Will is but one of the many comedies written by William Shakespeare that have been produced in many formats, from theater, television and even several feature films. So many different productions of the same works have opened the door to directors adding their own twist to the original script to make it their own. One play can be performed countless different ways, from very conservative or to unconventional depending on the director’s interpretation and intentions. So all writings are open for creative interpretation thus being for this paper I am going to focus on the directorial staging of this play and how the staging and direction brought the focus of the subplot of Antonio and Sebastian into a homoerotic relationship opposed to other renditions of Twelfth Night that were homosocial. To be an effective group, three conditions need to be present: “mutual trust among members, a sense of group identity (a feeling among members that they belong to a unique and worthwhile group), and a sense of group efficacy (the belief that the team can perform well and that group members are more effective working together than apart)” (Druskat and Wolff, 2001). In the first group meeting, we developed a better understanding of our group when discussing all the details about this group project. Whether groups are formed for social or task oriented purposes, the ability to produce and maintain a sense of affiliation, peer support and collaboration is important for overall group functioning. The cohesion of a social group is produced through the establishment of a set of group norms, which are later defined as a guide for conduct accepted within a group of individuals. However, in order for a group to perform and produce results, the team leader should guide his/her team through the proper stages of group development, which includes the following steps: forming, storming, norming, performing and adjourning. Groups and teams can be defined as, any number of individuals that interact together. When a group is maturing, the number of individuals decreases, when it gets to a stage where there is a high level of group cohesiveness due to commitment and trust among members, it then becomes a team. Cherrington (1994, p.356) identified that “the collective action of a group of individuals is much greater than the sum of individuals acting alone”. This is because workload is eased of individuals when working in a group, in addition an effective performance is achieved. However, some individuals find it difficult working in groups because of the inconveniences attached. Secondary group’s main purpose is to finish the task. The secondary group I am present is the work group. The work group is consist of four total people including myself. I work at Rite Aid Pharmacy. The main assignments given is to work with the pharmacist as a pharmacy technician to finish the task day to day. Secondary groups has many purpose like completing a project. Completing a project in my secondary group is to help the pharmacist to dispense medication for the patients in need. When a patient comes in with a prescription than first thing I do is ask for their insurance card and general information so that I and my coworker can put it in the computer to process it further. After the label has been printing with all necessary information has been processed through the computer than I go to the shelf to pick up the medication that patient was prescribed by double checking the NDC number on the bottle that medication is in. Every medication has a unique 10 digit, 3 segment number. This number is called NDC number which helps to make sure to release the right drug to patients. After the right medication is picked up you refer to the label to see how many counts has to be released to the patients and you count it and fill it up. After all that is done it is time to double check it by pharmacist with every step I did in his computer as well as checking the medication dispense. Now the third person who works at the register is informed when the prescription is ready than talks to the pharmacist and I about the prescription. Finally the prescription is released to patients by the other pharmacy technician. The secondary group I am in can be classified to be as a committee since couple of pharmacy technician work together to process the multiple prescriptions which is overlooked by the pharmacist at the end.
