At the age of 13 he began to write poetry, and at age 15 he started creating music to go with his poetry with his partner Jose Chusan, also known as “Jino”. When Royce turned 16, he started making music with his friend and producer Donzell Rodriguez, and Vincent Outerbridge, also known as “L Snipe & Vinney”. Age 19 he met Andrés Hidalgo. Andrés soon became his manager. Soon Andrés became his manager. Andrés introduces Royce to Sergio George. Sergio signed Royce to his label after he heard 3 of his demos.
Once Royce started producing music with his poetry, His mother supported the fact about what he wants to do with music. He developed the name Prince Royce when he looked up the word “Royce” to find out what it meant. He thought just the word “Royce” wouldn’t bring him fans. Royce meant king’s son or prince. He found out that it was a royalty name. “It’s just a name, and it won’t change how I act” he told his fans.
