Principle for Biblical Church Growth
Principle for Biblical Church Growth
INTRO
In these days, we see a lot of books and prominent church leaders give their personal ideas or vision in how God prospered there church and teach it to you as a general rule for church growth. The problem with this is if you are not connected with that Pastor, you have another DNA (vision, mission, ETC) so what work for them may not work for you. God gave every pastor an every of influence and it is their job to seek God to find His purpose for their church.
The good news is that there is a general format that DOES work for everyone to grow, but the method or the formula is not found in how to grow a church; it’s EXPANDING THE KINGDOM OF GOD! Amen. We are not here to growing our empire, but it’s to expand the kingdom of God! The life and teaching of Jesus give us the model as well as the growth or expansion of earthly kingdoms.
Points to Consider 1.) Only God can make it grow.
Paul said in 1 Corinthians 3:6 (New International Version)
6I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. We must first understand that if God is not building, no human effort will bring lasting growth. Hebrews 3:4 For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.

2.) Jesus came to establish the Kingdom of God.
Mark 1:15 "The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!" Luke 4:43 But he said, "I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent." Luke 11:20 But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come to you. Luke 9:11 But the crowds learned about it and followed him. He welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who needed healing. Luke 17:21 nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you." 3.) How an Earthly Kingdom Grows.
There are a couple of steps that a

According to Kenneth Gangel, in his article “The Marks of a Healthy Church,” he seeks to “explain the characteristics of a healthy church using the measurements of the spiritual, biblical, theological, ministry model, and scriptural model of leadership.” To accomplish this Gangel cautions spiritual leaders not to get caught up in measuring church growth in numerical terms. They should accentuate the holiness and sovereignty of God through Bible study, worship, prayer, praise, and fellowship. In following biblical instead of cultural patterns, churches do not feel compelled to stay “up with the times” or get hooked on religious fads and slogans.…

When Jesus speaks of the Kingdom of God His focus is on how people get into the kingdom, and how they need to live now. He taught that we enter His kingdom when we seek to live our lives in a reflection of that Kingdom and we respond to God with faith and allegiance. Peter had a difficult time understanding Jesus’ messianic role but after the transfiguration he began to understand that Jesus alone would fulfill God’s plan. This essay will trace the major teachings of the Kingdom and the growing conflict between Jesus and the Jewish leaders of the time as well as how this conflict ultimately led to the crucifixion of Christ.…

When we pray as Christ taught us we find ourselves saying, “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” When the will of God is obeyed, the kingdom, the reign of God is made present. It is easier to say this than it is to enact it. Every time I sin I put the kingdom of God away from me: but God’s will cannot be thwarted. It is up to me to remain within God’s kingdom, for if the gates close while I am without I will find myself in the eternal darkness where there is wailing and gnashing of teeth. And as Christ warns us, “But of that day and hour no one knows.” (Mt…

Administration in the church is an essential part of creating order, it allows the pastoral ministries, to take place. Without some organized form of administration, ministry or pastoral work, as we know it, would be very difficult to achieve. For a church to try to make a determination for or against having an active administration should only serve as a formality. For a church to function without an active administrative role in the 21st century would be quite difficult indeed. As Welch points out in Church Administration: Creating Efficiency for Effective Ministry, administration (or management of the church) is not an optional piece we can choose to include or not include, it exists whether we as church staff decide to acknowledge it or not.[1] Welch examines this in detail, from scripture, which includes 1 Corinthians 12:28 where it clearly states that “God has placed these in the church” as a necessary element of the church body.[2]…

There are many different kinds of worship styles because there are different kinds of people with different kinds of personalities. America is made up of different races and religion therefore we worship God differently. God created mankind in His image and His likeness to worship Him in spirit and truth. We must Worship God according to the principles of Scriptures so that He is magnified, glorified and exalted. It does not matter that we express our worship differently. What does matter is that we worship God with all our hearts and inner being. We as the church, the body of Christ must learn to except the difference in worship, if the worship is legitimate and stop trying to force our way of worship on other members of the body of Christ.…

Donald Griggs in his book Teaching Today’s Teachers to Teach, purports teaching must be given a high priority predominantly because it undergirds everything the church endeavors to accomplish for God. He further states teaching is both intentional in formal settings and unintentionally in everyday settings when interaction takes place with each other. One of our ministry's weak areas is in shaping the faith of our congregation from an internal "me" oriented faith into becoming a community of faith. Decisions for ministry opportunities the church will engage in are relegated to a few people. We do not have a community focus. This is primarily why the congregation is not growing spiritually and numerically. Our church needs to redefine how we view and implement Christian Education.…

    My Philosophy of Ministry

The second part of my philosophy of ministry is to train leaders. A leader in the church is a godly servant who is influencing others in the church. Building leadership development in the local church is vital to the continual growth of the ministry (Acts 6: 3-4; 2 Tim. 2:2). I want to always be in the process of training individuals and preparing them to step into a leadership position. The leadership training process needs to include not only theological study and “hands-on” involvement, but community and relationship development as well.…
