3. In the article, Kotter suggests that leading and managing need to be complementary. Why would this be the case? What happens to an organization if this isn 't the case?

Summary
The article “Leaders or Managers for a Difficult Time” by Jake E. Fincham is about the need for leadership in the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Fincham lists various ethical lapses over the past decades from people in the industry. He also lists some of the current and future problems in for pharmacists and pharmacies alike. Dr. Fincham calls for all involved in the pharmacy to become leaders to address future pharmaceutical challenges. The author also discusses the importance of working together to accomplish a task. There was also a study conducted in Maine to identify skills, knowledge, and abilities that are the most important to navigate challenges in the pharmacy. The study found that the following were the highest ranked challenges: “The ability to see the big picture, the ability to demonstrate the value of pharmacy services, the ability to lead and manage ethically, and the skills for influencing and organization’s senior leadership (Fincher, 2009).”
Kotter’s Views on Leadership
Kotter states that leadership and management must complement each other in order to be effectively used. “Kotter’s view of leadership involves
