To begin, the use of private prisons save the state money, Private prisons allow the state to save money, Public prison endorse money from the state, on the other hand private institutions do not. “Ira P. Robbins, an American University law professor who studied private prisons for the American Bar Association, agrees that private companies can build prisons faster and operate them less expensively than state or local governments.” (Potter, B 1991.
