Privileged Information
Summary
On Tuesday, February 28th, 2017 the NCIS show was titled, “Privileged Information.” Marine Sargent Erin Hill fell off the roof of her apartment in the middle of the day. The woman was put in the hospital in critical condition. Gibbs and his team are trying to find the trail leading up to the investigation. All the clues made it seem like a suicidal attempt. However, when Sargent Hill goes into cardiac arrest, her psychologist opens up to Gibbs. Hills psychologist explains how she was involved with covering up a murder. But, this was not a suicide. She specifically said, this was an attempted murder case. As the team met Hills older sister (Devin) which basically raised her, she opened up to them. It was concluded that the building maintenance

Kohut postulated that humans have psychological need to feel kinship or alikeness with other people. People with whom we feel kinship are said to be self-objects. Self-objects are useful developmentally because they help people feel understood and cared for, (Lynch) and they facilitate self-understanding by helping people make sense of their own experiences (Bertelson, All in Empathic Resonance & Meryl Streep, para 4). In this NCIS episode, Gibbs has a way with connecting with the viewer by making the person feel his emotions at a certain time. I am going to discuss the scene when one of Gibbs investigators (Alexandra) talks to the corpse of Sargent Hill. Also, when Abby shows Gibbs the altered video footage, and the scene where Gibbs is questioning Hills sister, Devin and solves his …show more content…
Gibbs and her play through the video footage that the maintenance building man gave them. Abby explains how the footage is bits and pieces of different days. The times are not adding up especially since Sargent Hill is wearing a silver watch just minutes before her fall, then in the previous clip a few seconds apart shows Hill wearing a leather watch. Gibbs face seems astonished and taken back. He immediately starts putting pieces together, without saying words. He then, kisses Abby on the cheek and takes off running. The viewer feels connected in knowing Gibbs has a hunch of what may happened. It then, gets the viewers intrigued, excited and sitting on the edge of their seat trying to figure out what happens

I am privileged in many ways, but the one privilege I appreciate the most is my health and my ability to physically and mentally do anything I want. The following will include how I encounter my own privilege of ableism and healthy privilege, a history of laws and movements in place to help those with special needs, encounters with the disabled, and what more we can do to change the lives of the disabled for the better.…

What does it mean to be privileged, and who are the privileged and the non-privileged people? Frances E. Kendall a scholar who focuses on organizational change, diversity, and white privilege, states that privileged are those who are innately born with greater access to resources, power and authority. The word privilege is followed with many problems as it is often a strenuous term to explain. Privileges, by definition are institutional advantages. Kendall states the problem is, those who are granted with these beneficial advantages often time do not consider themselves to be categorized as a privileged person, rather they see their social standing a normative lifestyle. The greater problem is that those who are privileged often time do not…

To explore the concepts of Data, Information, and Knowledge independently is to attempt building a large and complex puzzle with only a few pieces from the box. While the relationships between these concepts can be as elusive as finding their universal definitions, it is within these relationships that data, information, and knowledge are most meaningful. In the broadest sense, data exists in the form of unorganized and raw facts about the environment that are collected and stored. When this stored data is transformed and processed into something more meaningful and organized, it becomes information. Perhaps most importantly, is knowledge: the collective information stored in the minds of people in organizations over time, and the “set of rules” they use to process that information to make decisions. Upholding the significance of knowledge as a resource is the Knowledge Based Theory of the Firm. Operating based on a few assumptions about the flow of knowledge within the organization; this theory holds knowledge as most strategically important of all the firm’s resources. The Knowledge Based Theory of the firm is also a fierce proponent of common knowledge, emphasizing that successful coordination within the organization relies largely on the presence of common knowledge between its members. At first glance, it seems this theory has completely overlooked the importance of data and information to the firm. But with deeper understanding it becomes apparent that knowledge – as well as information and data – are all largely present in the theory’s foundation.…

    Information Asymmetry

    • 799 Words

The first two problems together are equal in value to the third problem. Total points possible: 20 1 (5 pts.). What is information asymmetry? What was its role in the vision of Ecommerce I, and how does it hold up in the reality of E-commerce II? Answer Information asymmetry exists when some market participants have information not available to other market participants. The usual case is where merchants and manufacturers know their true costs, profits, and price discrimination strategies while consumers have only vague ideas of figures and strategies. E-commerce I was supposed to reduce information asymmetry since it was supposed to make information available in ways and volumes not previously possible. In E-commerce II, there is considerable persistent price dispersion, brands remain very important, and the ideal of very efficient markets has not come to pass. All these factors have allowed merchants and manufacturers to introduce information asymmetries if only because factors not readily available via the Internet now contribute so much to costs and profits. 2 (5 pts.). What is the traditional relation between the richness and the reach of a marketing message? How have e-commerce technologies changed this? Answer Before the Web, there was a tradeoff between the richness and the reach of a message: richer messages had less reach, and messages with more reach had to sacrifice richness. The Web, however, has abolished this tradeoff (at least once we go beyond relatively narrow reach) since marketing messages with complex content (such as text, video, and audio) can reach audiences of millions.…
