For many years, abortion has been perhaps the most controversial issue in America. The controversy is between protecting an unborn child’s life and taking away a woman’s constitutional freedom to choose. Those who are Pro-Choice believe that a woman should be allowed to control their own body and no one has the right to compel their morals on them. Pro-Life advocates like Jennifer Simmons, believe that a constitutional amendment should be pass giving equal protection to all including unborn children. To voice her opinion and spread her beliefs, Simmons wrote a paper to reach out and convince those undecided minds that Pro-Life is morally the only choice. Jennifer Simmons’ main idea was to stress there is no excuse or justification

    The issue of abortion is by far, one of the most controversial topics in American History and everyone seems to have an opinion on the topic. Although there are many sides to the topic, the issue has divided the majority of people to the two extreme views of the topic --Pro-choice Vs. Pro-life. We can see the main arguments of each side just by analyzing the titles given to the two sides. Those who are pro-life believe that they are in fact Pro-Life and that abortion is murder. Those who are pro-choice believe that they are Pro-choice and that outlawing abortion would take the women's freedom to make a choice about her own body. Feelings and emotions about such an issue are very powerful and it has been the case that both sides will go to extremes to defend what they believe in.     According to BPAS (2010), which is Britain's largest single abortion provider caring for over 55,000 women each year, abortion is a process of ending a pregnancy in early month. Most of the times, a woman can take medicine or having surgery to end her pregnancy and the abortion using this two types of methods are usually done in the first three months of the pregnancy. Abortion is usually done by a doctor and other health care professionals in the hospital, doctor’s office or health center. As mentioned before, there are two types of abortion. A medical abortion is an abortion caused by medicine and it could only be done in the first nine weeks of pregnancy. The most common type of medical abortion uses a medicine called mifepristone in the process of abortion. The function of this pill is to block progesterone which is a hormone needed for pregnancy. It causes the lining of the womb to become thin. However, a woman may try a surgery abortion when medical abortion does not work. A doctor removes the lining of the womb in a surgical abortion. The abortion debate has been on going over the last three decades. People argue about the conflict of the rights for the human rights and the reproductive rights of women or the human right advocates. As a human, we have to stand on the pro-life position which we have to respect the unborn child or we should stand on the pro-choice or pro-abortion position which we have to respect the parents’ decisions whether they want to give birth to the unborn child due to some valid reasons?…

Abortion has fostered one of the most controversial, contentious and ethical debates in the United States. People divide themselves into two groups: pro-life and pro-choice. Pro-life argues that abortion is murder, and the mother has no right to take the life of a potential child. Prochoice “ refers to the political and ethical view that a woman should have complete right over her fertility and that she should have the freedom to decide whether she wants to continue or terminate her pregnancy” (Bose). In 1973, the Supreme Court made it possible for woman to obtain a legal abortion from well-trained medical surgeons which was a giant step forward for women’s rights (Pomeroy). Undertaking an abortion is a woman’s choice and any proposal to take away this autonomy not only violates a woman’s civil rights but would also cause many more problems in regards to a woman’s health. A woman’s autonomy is the one thing no one should be able to take away from her. Abortion is an extremely private matter that the government has no right to interfere in.
